A nice comfortable house with a cozy sitting room and very complete spacious kitchen. Two pleasant bedrooms with good beds and bedding. Located in a beautiful area!
This is a lovely cottage in the quiet village of Barbon which is decorated and equipped to a very high standard. Friendly village pub 1 min from front door, lovely fell walks virtually from the doorstep, easy access to Kirkby Lonsdale and the M6.

Hi,
Thank you for your kind comments, we hope to see you again soon.
We stayed in the Old Post Office for October half term and had a fantastic holiday. It really is a lovely cottage - full of character but renovated and refurbished with a modern and contemporary feel. The location is brilliant with the friendly local pub literally a short walk from the cottage and the wonderful Churchmouse cafe (brilliant bacon rolls!) a similar distance. Highly recommended!

Beautifully cottage, very comfortable and tastefully renovated
We spent 3 nights in The Old Post Office hoping to spend our days exploring the Dales. Unfortunately we did none of that due to very wet weather. However the cottage was so lovely that we didn’t really mind at all. The furniture was perfect, really comfortable sofas to curl up on in front of the fire and watch a movie. The beds were dreamy and we slept so well. The went to local pub and the lovely Churchmouse Cafe - which does a fantastic breakfast. We finished our trip with a day in Kirkby Lonsdale, highly recommendable for a bit of retail therapy and a lovely lunch at the Swan Hotel.
Can’t wait to go back and stay there again.
This was my second time staying at the Old Post Office and it was every bit as special as the first! Whilst during my December stay we enjoyed long cosy nights in curled up in front of the fire, this time round we made the most of the glorious weather and explored all that beautiful Barbon has to offer. There were picture perfect country strolls, a lovely meal at the Barbon Inn, and refreshing iced coffees and great chats at the Churchmouse cafe. We also loved sitting out in the sunshine in the back garden of the house in the morning and supping a glass of wine out front in the evening. The house had absolutely everything we could wish for - beautiful decor, a fantastically equipped kitchen and fans to keep us cool! I look forward to coming back again - think next time an autumn trip will be in order!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, it means a lot. Glad you had a lovely time and hope to see you again soon. Rob.
Our first visit to the old Post office at Barbon and absolutely delighted with the accommodation and the location. Took this as an opportunity to do a little walking and plenty of different options available.
The accommodation is perfect with quality fixtures and fittings throughout, comfy beds and fantastic shower.
We will definately book again, in fact managed to stay an extra night at short notice with a quick email to the owner.
We loved the location and the overall stay at the cottage Perfect.
The only thing that I would advise people when coming to stay, has quite a steep spiral stair case so would not be suitable if you had trouble climbing the stairs.
The cottage had everything we needed, beautifullly decorated, clean and very homely. Barbon is a quiet location with stunning scenery and ideally located to explore the local area with walks right on your doorstep and a short drive to the lakes. Great pub serving food a 2 minute walk from the cottage and all the locals were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be looking to stay again. I can recommend The Old Post Office for the location, the fantastic cottage and the owner provided lots of great information to help us plan our stay.
We absolutely loved this cottage..it is beautifully decorated and has every detail planned out for their guests, from the kitchen to suggestions on activities. Our host Rob was so kind to check in with us and very easy to work with. The town of Barbon is so charming and peaceful. We loved going to the Chirch Mouse for lunch and sundries and the Barbon Inn was so convenient. The walks in the near area were great and Kirby Lonsdale is a very cute town to visit. The back garden was a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine…so charming!
But, overwhelmingly for us was the charm and warmth of the cottage. It really made our stay so memorable! We did not want to leave to even tour around, which is a compliment. We will definitely be back! Thank you Rob and Mancy for providing such a lovely vacation home! You have created a wonderful oasis!
We loved everything about our stay. The house is beautiful and very comfortable, with gorgeous cushions and blankets everywhere you look. The extremely comfy beds and amazing shower added to the pleasure of our stay, and the setting is perfect. We will definitely be returning - we just can't fault this house at all.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Old Post Office of our friends special birthday. Prior to our visit we were contacted by Rob who made recommendations and suggestions for places to eat and walks we could do. The village of Barbon was the great location to explore both The Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage was well equipped and we were lucky enough to enjoy the garden during out stay. We would definitely recommend the property to others and would definitely consider staying again. Thanks Rob for sharing this lovely home with us.
