We and our two dogs spent three weeks in The Nook and used it as our home base while exploring North Devon. The cottage was clean and it had everything in it we needed during our stay. The equipment is partly dated, but still perfectly functional. For dog owners it´s important to know that there are no direct walks possible from the farm and the garden allocated to The Nook is tiny. It was a cosy place to return to after our daily excursions to the beautiful places North Devon has to offer. We already miss the quiet and serenity of Highford Farm and can absolutely recommend The Nook.

It suits us very well.
It suits us very well. Quit and located to the area we love. The only two points to mention are two single beds for those used to a double but that’s better than a narrow double anyway, and the old building has a bit of fusty smell. That doesn’t mark it down for us and mentioned so that people go in the realisation of that.

The Nook
We enjoyed our stay very much, the setting is very nice, very quiet and remote...for people who want really a break. You will get a break, as there is no WiFi, no working television, and cellular phones work...sometimes. I can deal with that, but it should be mentioned in the description of the apartment....where you will find some pictures, but not much more information.

The property was as listed. Very well equipped kitchen. Good hot shower and large bath. Short drive to most places. Definitely need transport. Lovely to sit out listening and watching the birds in and out of their nests. Pitch black dark at night, great for star gazing and so quiet.Donkeys in the back field. Downsides ..... smelt very musty & damp. Clothes hanging up felt damp and towels didnt dry.Too many spiders in every room ( and have been bitten) and in the cupboards in the kitchen. The dust webs visable. Whole place needs a good vaccum. ... used it once but the vacuum smelt so bad.Rugs old and dirty and had dog hair on.The heating didnt come on as instructed . .. just turn the thermostat up and it will come on, well it didnt so must have been on some sort of timer. Strict instructions not to touch the boiler !The weather improved thank goodness so we spent most time out. The hairdryer is a fire hazard, so blocked up with old fluff that it kept cutting out.... only used it for couple minutes the whole week

We enjoyed our stay at The Nook very much.
We enjoyed our stay at The Nook very much. The property was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our visit. The site is quiet and affords a great view of the sunset each evening. The only slight grouse we had was the toilet seat , which slipped sideways every time you sat on it but this is easily rectified.

Overall a lovely property in a great location and with fantastic views literally on the doorstep.
Overall a lovely property in a great location and with fantastic views literally on the doorstep. The property itself is generally in good order and is well equipped with everything you need.
Slight negatives would be that the living room furniture is a little dated and could do with replacing. Likewise the sofa bed is fully functional but not the most comfortable for a weeks stay.
Location-wise you couldn't ask for much more. With our 2 little ones it was great to be so close to several beaches & attractions and the town of Bideford being just 15 minutes away. The one thing to be completely aware of is that there are no amenities within walking distance so you will be commuting regularly for food & other essentials.
Would definitely recommend for couples or small families looking for a well-placed property in a charming country location.

Great location.
Great location. Very pleasant setting. Plenty of room in accommodation. Supplied with extras such as washing machine, plenty of board games, tea milk and sugar, and a picnic table outside.
Unsure which areas of lawn we were aloud to use.
Uncomfortable mattress. Armchair looked like it needed a clean.
