Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Enclosed courtyard. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There is a pond, 5 yards away.. This charming holiday cottage sits alongside Cromford Mill Pond and the centre of this historic village. From inside or out you can relax and watch the wild fowl cruise the pond. The pond was used to feed the Arkwright Mill and the wheel is still turning. An ideal location with excellent walks nearby leading to Black Rocks, High Peak Trail, Cromford Mills and canal. Carsington Water with watersports and birdwatching is within easy reach. Matlock Bath only 1 mile and Abraham Heights and Gullivers Kingdom. Matlock for antiques and shops is 2 miles. Visit the old market town of Bakewell and sample the famous Bakewell pudding in one of the many tea rooms. Just a few miles from here is Chatsworth House and medieval Haddon Hall. Shop and pub 50 yards, restaurant 100 yards.

Lovely cottage in great location.

Lovely cottage in great location. Easy access to trains and buses from the village to local sites, walks etc. Appreciated the extras on arrival e.g. milk and biscuits in kitchen and general cleaning products in the cottage. Had difficulty in using the fire and television due to lack of welcome pack/instruction notes. All in all we had a lovely 5 night stay.

We had a lovely few days here.

We had a lovely few days here. The cottage is well equipped, cosy, like a home from home. The views out the windows are pretty. The location is great for walks and shops. Nice bath, and OK shower. The main bed seems to be memory foam, which we struggle sleeping on, due to it getting too hot, even with the heating off and window open all night. A normal mattress would be preferred. Other than that, everything else we we very happy with!

Great central location, perfect cosy cottage with everything you need at hand, little village of Cromford has everything on your doorstep including a general store, butchers, bookshop, multiple pubs within walking distance and the cottage is right next to the most beautiful pond with ducks to feed, we would definitely recommend this cottage and location. Mill Pond Cottage was an excellent base to visit a number of local attractions.

Mill Pond Cottage was an excellent base to visit a number of local attractions. Walking distance to Matlock Bath, Cromford Mill, Canal walks, Black Rock. The cottage it self was cosy with a large lounge/diner, two good sized bedrooms a bathroom with shower over the bath. The kitchen was well equipped. Gas central heating & log burner effect gas fire in the lounge. Also Netflix available on TV. The Boat Inn (5 min walk) serves good food & drink. We were really pleased with this cottage.

We were really pleased with this cottage. It had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. Spacious, well equipped and stocked - lovely cottage in excellent location.

Spacious, well equipped and stocked - lovely cottage in excellent location. Only drawback is no nice outside sitting space. There are folding chairs provided but the courtyard is to the side next to the pavement of a quite busy road (morning and evening) with no plants and also used for parking. Parking a bit tricky for the longer car, but alternatives are available very close. There is a raised green space across the drive however between the cottage and the pond which could be used. The views across the pond with swan and ducks are lovely. Location for local amenities - shops, hotel, eateries - is literally only a few minutes from the door. Cromford Mill and associated activities 5 - 10 minutes. Owner very kindly left us milk and a packet of biscuits, with tea, coffee and sauces etc in kitchen and sweets on the table. Our first experience of Netflix too ! Comfortable double bed, singles not so much but OK for children I would think.

Lovely

Lovely cottage, with wonderful outlook over the mill pond. Great location for local attractions and restaurants etc. Would definitely recommend to others to try it out. Although it's quite noisy with traffic, the location and setting more than makes up for it.
