There are many low level routes to be taken from the doorstep and for those who prefer something more strenuous, Scafell, Great Gable and their surrounding peaks are all possible day trips from the cottage. There is a general store in the nearby village of Rosthwaite and two public bars within walking distance. a lovely break in peaceful surroundings
Chapelfield Cottage was perfect for the 3 of us. It had everything we needed. The owners live next door in case of any problems. Good sized parking area, room for 2 cars - we have an estate car and sometimes spaces are tight just for 1.

We loved the comfort and the garden and the fact that it was private parking.
We loved the comfort and the garden and the fact that it was private parking. A great place for walkers but also a good bus service to Keswick either short way up Borrowdale or scenic way over Honister.
