About this property

Jasmine Cottage (4), South Creake, Norfolk

Jasmine Cottage is a delightful and quirky, two bedroom period terraced cottage in the pretty village of South Creake. With a mezzanine floor accessed via a ship's ladder, this little Norfolk gem is great for couples wanting a romantic love nest for two, or for a young family with children who are looking for something a little different.

With a large living/dining area with limestone floors and stylish, modern kitchen, bathroom and downstairs shower room, this gorgeous rustic retreat is the perfect hideaway. With plenty of character, including a Norfolk winder staircase and vaulted ceilings and exposed beams upstairs, this unique bolt hole offers a very special holiday experience which conjures up mystery and excitement. Light and bright, with a spacious sitting room with dining area, furnished with vintage pieces of furniture and Farrow and Ball accents, this little cottage is relaxed and laid back. On winter nights, light the fire and snuggle up together whilst watching a good film with a glass of wine.

Set close to the beautiful North Norfolk coast, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Jasmine Cottage sits opposite the village green, play area and tennis courts in the centre of South Creake. The cottage boasts a sunny garden to relax in, so on warmer days, enjoy eating breakfast outside or dining alfresco on an evening, whilst watching the bird life. Fashionable Burnham Market, Norfolk's loveliest village is a short drive away, where you will find its numerous restaurants very hard to resist! A twenty minute drive north and you'll come across the fantastic sandy beaches at Brancaster, Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea, where you can tuck yourself away in the dunes and enjoy long summer days sunbathing.

Jasmine Cottage can also be booked as a sleeps six option, with the addition of an annexe across the garden.

Additional Information:
There is under floor heating downstairs and electric panel radiators upstairs.
Care must be taken when children use the mezzanine level. The ladder is extremely steep with narrow treads, and there are low beams on the mezzanine.
Please request on booking if you wish to use the beds on the mezzanine level. The twin beds on the landing will be made up as standard.
Two well behaved dogs are welcome (small additional charge).
Norfolk Winder stairs are, as with older character cottages, enclosed, steep, curved and narrow. Here they are wooden and there is a handrail on one side.

Tired could do with some love
Some aspects where very nice, good shower pressure, nice bath size, plenty of hot water. Plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. Nice courtyard garden with nice flowers. Front door straight onto main road and you can not lock without the key, not the best scenario as we had dogs. Sofa was very dirty needed cleaning and scatter cushions where crusty fur. Stairs very steep and narrow but most of all very slippery really needs carpet so that you could not slip in socks. Bath floor tiles broken. Shower tiles need cleaning and grout replacing. In our opinion only ok for 2 adults, stairs not safe for children and not practical for adults to walk through others bedrooms

Nice Cottage
Cottage was nice, fairly basic furnishings and shower could do with a good clean of the grout. Bathroom radiator not working, had been reported numerous times from comments in visitor book but not repaired. Cottage lovely and warm for a winter break. Some noise from the busy road that runs through village. The Ostrich Pub situated a couple of doors away was really good for food and drinks and staff very welcoming. Secure rear garden for dog. Overall comfortable and the location is good for the coast. Cottage well equipped especially in kitchen. One problem was there was no tools to clean out the log burner, when we arrived it had not been cleaned out and we could not clean it out when we left.

Cosy warm cottage
Lovely cosy cottage when warmed up. Unfortunately when we arrived the previous guests had turned off the storage heater off, but once charged the cottage was lovely and warm. Generally clean, under the main large sofa it could have done with a clean underneath, other than that very clean. We found a cigarette lighter in between the bottom sheet and duvet of single bed, I assume this was dropped by the cleaner making the bed up. More care needed, thankfully we didn’t have young children with us. On the whole the cottage was lovely.

Jasmine Cottage - comfy but noisy
We enjoyed our holiday at Jasmine Cottage. It was in a great location to visit the north Norfolk coast. My boys loved the playing field and stream full of ducks opposite the house. It was comfy inside however we had a few issues… The morning road noise was very disturbing, plus the aircraft from the local airfield was incredibly loud! The underfloor heating didn’t work in the kitchen and the towel rail in the upstairs bathroom and heater in bedroom were also not working. In fact the storage heaters exacerbated my sons asthma so we had to turn the heating off altogether. The hob controls are opposite to what you would expect so this needs noting in the book/on the hob but but kitchen was well equipped which was good. Finally the stairs are too steep for anyone elderly so please be careful if booking this cottage. The DVD player was not connected to the TV but there was Netflix which was handy! The lounge was lovely and the sofa and main bed was very comfy.

Beautiful spacious cottage with character
A lovely calm cottage with a beautiful location next to a stream. The garden was a delight to sit in and as bird watchers we were amazed by the different birds and wildlife that we saw. The children thought the mezzanine was amazing to play on. The only downside was that the washer/dryer didn’t work and that wasn’t communicated to us. When we phoned we were told a part was arriving but it never did. I booked the property because of the washing facilities so it was annoying to spend half a day hand washing and air drying clothes. I would fully recommend the cottage (check the washer is working) and it’s great for travelling to the beaches at Wells, Holkham and Titchwell etc. The owners left us a huge homemade cake which was amazing and a lovely touch. It is the only property I haven’t had to clean when I got there too - spotless. We were sad to leave!
