Sunny Lake Sutherland Gateway to Olympic National Park
Located on the sunny North-shore of Lake Sutherland. Enjoy expansive views of the lake and a central location with access to all that Olympic National Park has to offer. (O.N.P. visitor information center at Lake Crescent is just over 5 mi. away).
Many of our visitors enjoy peaceful mornings and relaxing evenings at the lake, then pack lunches, and enjoy short day trips all over the Peninsula. Spread out your maps and explore! Beaches, Mountains, Rivers, Rainforests, Lakes, Waterfalls, all just minutes away.
The open floor plan offers lake views from nearly every seat. Clean and uncluttered, the comfortable furniture, quality beds and linens, ensure you will relax and enjoy your time here. The kitchen and appliances are very nice and stocked with the basics. Propane and Charcoal BBQ's are clean and ready for grilling on the BBQ deck, plus there are tables for dining inside & out.
The expansive dock is private (not a shared dock) and is equipped with 2 swim ladders and several incredibly comfortable Adirondack chairs hand-made by the owner. This is the perfect place for spending days in the sun and on the water. After the sun goes down, enjoy some great stargazing from the dock.
Easy access from Highway 101 via a short paved road that leads right to the property. There is also a small group of private roads that inter- connect and allow for long walks around much of the North Shore of the lake. Drive right up to the door!
Although we love them, please no pets and no Smoking.

It’s such a cozy cabin with a spectacular lake/mountain view! It has everything we need to accommodate our large party. The beds are comfortable, lots of seatings to enjoy meals by the lake. There are two kayaks that makes the stay so much fun. Will definitely return!
We enjoyed our time here. The home was beautiful. Very nice and clean. The views were amazing. Wendy reached out the day of our arrival and was very responsive to texts. The home had everything we needed. If you’re visiting Olympic National Park this is a great place to stay.
We chose this place to stay as a 'homebase' during our adventures in Olympic peninsula and it was perfect. Great location if you're interested in day hikes in the park or just want to relax at a lake with an amazing view and quiet atmosphere.
This place is awesome. We chose to spend the entirety of our stay at the house and it did not disappoint. We swam, fished and just enjoyed the nature around us. The neighbors also came by and were real friendly . The house was clean and just the right size for our family.
We had an absolutely amazing time at this wonderful spot. We are a family of 5 who came out to visit Olympic National Park. The hosts were very responsive, the cabin is beautiful, and the setting is amazing. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Just a note for families, the rooms are all open at the ceiling, so sound carries at night if you have light sleepers.
We loved our time at the cottage! The hosts had everything we could possibly need and more. We loved going out and exploring ONP in the morning and coming back to the cottage in the afternoon to swim and relax. The view and outdoor space was absolutely awesome!
Amazing experience, best part of our trip. Having a private dock at this beautiful lake with mountains around it was indescribable. The house itself was great as well. Host was responsive and neighbors were friendly.
Perfect spot to come home to while visiting the park. The house was very comfortable and well stocked. The dock can’t be beat. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock until dark every night after the day of hiking.
Beautiful location and property. Minor issues like loud refrigerator noises and bathroom door that doesn't shut completely as well as leftover food in fridge and freezer. Still the location was amazing and we fully enjoyed the lake views.
This home sits in a dream-like setting on a beautiful lake. Its peaceful and secluded, while being just a mile or so from the National Park. The owners were very communicative and we are so grateful they shared their home with us. I highly reccommend!
This property was incredible. Pictures do not do the atmosphere justice. The outside living here is amazing…you want to be at the patio table, dock, Adirondack chairs or kayakers all the time to absorb the mountains, water and sunshine. I would stay here again with my wife and three kids anytime! Highly recommend!

We don’t think that there is a more picturesque location on Lake Sutherland. Our care of the cabin also makes it incredibly difficult to leave.
This lake house is even more beautiful than the pictures- it exceeded our expectations! Alan and Wendy were very communicative and had great recommendations for places to see and eat in the area. Their best recommendation was to jump in and enjoy the lake - and we did every afternoon! It was also a perfect launch point for many amazing hikes. This was our favorite family vacation ever!
loved the location of this property. close to the park and port Angeles. Great view and wonderful sunsets. well kept with all necessities included. We loved our stay!

We are Olympic Peninsula Natives. Our family has owned and enjoyed this property since 1981. It is a very special place to us and it is a great place to spend time. As the seasons change, so does the lake environment. Summers are fantastic for outdoor and watersports enthusiasts, and there is a modest amount of boating traffic. Winter, Spring and Fall seasons it remains very peaceful and the traffic on the lake is mostly all wildlife. Regardless of the season, this is a fantastic spot to enjoy all the beauty of the lake and the Olympic Peninsula.
Why they chose this property
We feel this is one of the best locations on the lake. It is easy to find, easy to drive to, and when you arrive, you will find that we are one of a very small number of properties on Lake Sutherland's North shore ( The sunny side) that offers drive- up access to the home and the lake without having to climb a large staircase. If you are considering another property we encourage you to consider this. This location does not fall into the shadows. Many properties on Lake Sutherland only get direct sunlight for a limited time daily. The summer sun hits the dock at @ 10 AM and stays with us until sunset.
What makes this property unique
Central location. Short drive times to Olympic National Park attractions. Quick and easy access to Hwy 101 on good paved surfaces. Being able to drive right to the front door at lake level is a huge benefit.
