No big screen TV or spa bath Enjoy staying in an off-grid solar & wind powered house.




This modern light filled 2 bedom eco-house with open plan living area offers spectacular everchanging views down the valley and across the sea to Kangaroo Island. The house stands alone on 2.5 acres.

Secluded and private country property with 'walled' secret garden, olive grove, orchard, native and exotic trees. Generous living area with polished wooden floors throughout, a cook's kitchen and floor to ceiling glass doors. The main bedroom opens onto the deck and the garden beyond and the stars above.

Enjoy the outdoor shower (hot water!), under the sun or stars (yes, there is also a shower in the bathroom).

Watch the wildlife - native birds, kangaroos, maybe an echidna and a family of hares through the floor to ceiling picture window.

A short drive to Morgans Beach, Second Valley and Rapid Bay beaches.
Experience the scenic walk (or the 4wd drive) to the surf and popular fishing spot at Blowhole Beach.

Discover the varied walks within Deep Creek Conservation Park with its stunning coastal scenery, or explore beyond to Tunkalilla, Waitpinga and Parsons Beaches along Range Rd towards Victor Harbor.

Visit the beautiful Raywood Nursery growing and selling exotic and native plants 5mins away on Tappanappa Rd, with a 1000yr old Grass tree (Xanthorrhoea sp.) growing next to the carpark! Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Thai takeaway 5mins drive down the hill.

We have a dam on the property, which may or may not have water, so parents with young children will need to supervise them at all times.

Dogs welcome at an additional charge

Our family (2 adults, 2 children aged 8 and 9) had a wonderful stay. We found the property beautiful, clean, and well appointed (eg. A wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway! So great we've been multiple times over the years. The kids loved climbing the Californian Redwood, the kitchen is well stocked for keen cooks, and the outdoor shower is amazing. Love wandering around the garden and hiking in the national park. The hosts are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The house is an absolute treasure - a mesmerising view, beautiful garden perfect to sit and spend time in reading or having a cup of tea, and the house was beautifully and generously appointed.The beds were very comfortable with lovely linen, and the kitchen was a joy to cook in.Sandra is a fantastic host, kind and highly responsive. The house was terrific with loads of space and magical views. We were relatively close to all of the required touristy places to visit, however the property was very self sufficient, quiet and just wonderful for a few days away from every day life, a great place to stay.

Deep Creek Retreat is truly magical. Set on 2.5 acres, the gardens are beautifully designed, featuring a charming walled garden and an incredible mix of native and exotic trees. The property offers breathtaking views across to Kangaroo Island and feels wonderfully secluded, yet it’s the perfect base for exploring this part of South Australia.The home itself is a delight. Fully off-grid but equipped with every modern comfort, it’s clear the owners have thoughtfully included everything needed for a relaxed and enjoyable stay. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be returning soon for another peaceful getaway.

Relaxing Family Getaway

Deep Creek Retreat was the absolute perfect place to enjoy our first ever long weekend away with our 11-month old. The house and grounds were immaculate and very well looked after, we enjoyed wandering through the garden and spending time away from our phones and TV. We loved the privacy but also how easy it was to get to places like the beach. And being able to bring our dog along made it even better! We can't wait to come back.
