Bonnells Lakeside, Bonnells Bay

This beautiful home has a large rolling lawn reaching the water's edge and a private jetty with mooring facilities. The perfect place for a quiet, relaxing getaway or immersing yourself in the numerous water based activities - swimming, boating, water sports, fishing and crabbing. Kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards can be hired and delivered/picked up by Lake Macquarie Kayak and SUP Hire.

Bonnells Lakeside is 1 hour on the freeway north of Sydney and is close to two golf courses, the Hunter Valley wineries (40 minutes), the Watagan National Park for bush walks and picnics (15 minutes), Caves Beach (30 minutes) and there are restaurants, shops and clubs nearby. You can view the numerous local kangaroos in the park at Morriset.

The home has indoor and outdoor eating areas plus BBQ as well as an outdoor deck with lounges to relax and enjoy the view. In winter where is a gas fire and underfloor heating in rumpus room and bathroom.

The living area is modern and spacious and there is a fully equipped kitchen with fresh coffee making machine. The large rumpus room offers comfortable sleeping as well as a snooker table and Foxtel large plasma TV. There is a playstation and Wi.

This beautifully appointed home has:

Large Rumpus room with two double beds and 1 single bed with water views.
Young children can use bunk beds in Bedroom 2.

Property is baby friendly - travel cot and high chair provided.

There are two modern bathrooms, one with spa and an outside tropical rainforest shower to use after water activities.

Linen and towels are provided. NO PETS PLEASE. Please note a MINIMUM OF TWO NIGHTS is required.

Enjoyable and relaxing!

This is a great place for a holiday by the lake. The house is really big and very well equipped. I must say the air conditioning was very welcome given the muggy conditions and smoke from the distant bushfires. We enjoyed some great games at the pool table and went kayaking on the lake. Only thing missing are cafés/restaurants nearby but it wasn't really a problem as we cooked most of the time. Thanks Margie!

We had an awesome family holiday. Very clean and best layout. BBQ table and patio with the view is the best. My teenagers loved the pool table in the rumpus room. All in all great comms from the host, perfect stay!

A little slice of perfection

A beautiful property in a sleepy little bay. Perfect for a quick getaway from Sydney at only 90 minutes away. The property was immaculate with lots of activities, overall a great experience.

The house and stay was flawless. The downstairs rumpus room was the highlight with not only a pool table but also cricket bats, soccer balls, basket balls, fishing rods which the little one loved and numerous other fun activities including a PlayStation 1 and 2 Terrific place, perfect for couples and families and definitely will recommend to our friends

Great stay but spoilt by the leak in the rumpus room that rendered it unusable.

Great location Wonderful view of the lake Very comfortable on two levels. Unfortunately there was a leak in the rumpus room ceiling (Bottom Level) that caused mold and a terrible damp smell that made it impossible to use. Perhaps if someone had checked the property prior to our arrival this problem rectified and we could have had access to the whole property. A great pity as this is a wonderful property.

Lovely home.

The house was clean and tidy, with lovely decor. A few mix ups with parking as it borders another dwelling; however, they were accommodating and moved their vehicles. Amazing veiws, lots of beds, perfect place for a large family or a small group. Property manager was quick and helpful with responses. Completely recommend.

My husband and I bought Bonnells Lakeside 29 years ago and we, our children and friends have thoroughly enjoyed staying up there. We rebuilt the property in 2007 using an architect who promoted the open, cross flow ventilation and glass to maximise the beautiful location and view.

Why they chose this property

We have always enjoyed watersports and come up to Bonnells Bay to waterski, sail, enjoy lakeside living and playing golf locally. Our children, who are now grown up, still enjoy coming up to the lake. There is plenty of fish but that's one activity their friends enjoy more - fish and crabs have been caught at the end of the jetty. Children will love this place. We offer canoeing, badminton, snooker as well as playstation, WI and Foxtel. We have a snooker table in rumpus room.

What makes this property unique

Most wonderful setting. We love sitting out on the deck eating prawns and drinking wine whilst enjoying the serenity.
