About this property
Eagle's Haven - Entire Cabin 6 bd w/ 2 LivingAreas
This beautiful, spacious cabin retreat is perched at the top of a private cul-de-sac hidden in the trees and overlooking Kenia Lake. With 6 bedrooms with queen beds in each + an additional single bed, 2.5 baths and 2 full kitchens this home is big enough for your whole group, sleeps 13 adults. The close proximity to both the Kenia River and Russian River makes this a great location for world class salmon fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting and all your bucket list outdoor adventures.
This huge cabin sits at the end of a private cul-de-sac with plenty of off street parking. The property backs up to the Chugach National Forest and overlooks the Kenai Lake and River, making this the perfect location for your summer getaway, with breathtaking views.
The house has 6 bedrooms (6 queen beds and 1 twin and an extra air mattress) and 2.5 bathrooms, plus 2 separate living areas and 2 full kitchens and laundry areas. The house is fully stocked with all the essentials to make you feel at home on your trip. The house is 3 stories so be prepared for stairs. You can let yourself in anytime with an easy to use Smartlock. As you enter on the main floor, there is a half bath near the entry. Down the hall is a large bedroom with a queen bed and desk. The hallway opens into a large living room and dining room which attaches to the kitchen. The large main floor living room has a Smart TV with Netflix access and huge Southward facing windows that overlook the Kenai Lake. The dining room has a massive dining room table which seats 8 people. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, cooking oil, salt, pepper, a coffee maker and filters, microwave, and toaster etc to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. There is also a breakfast bar with 3 barstools off of the kitchen with sunroom windows that create a beautiful view of the woods. There is a large balcony off of the dining room and kitchen which wraps around 2 sides of the house for 180 degree views. There is a propane grill and patio furniture, perfect for grilling up your freshly caught salmon and enjoying the serenity of the location. Watch for eagles which like to land on the big curved treetop branch to the south east.
Up the grand stair case you will find 3 more bedrooms with queen beds, one of which is a large master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows on one wall to enjoy the view. There is also a full bath on the upstairs level. It has a large vanity and full sized tub/shower plus a washer and dryer.
The lower level is a fully finished walkout basement which also has a large patio with great views, a propane BBQ, and patio furniture. The downstairs level is complete with living room with TV, a full kitchen and dining area that seats 6 people, plus 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom. 1 Bedroom has a queen bed, and the other has a queen bed and a twin bed. These lower level bedrooms do not have windows which may be perfect for those having a hard time adjusting to the very long summer daylight hours. The downstairs bathroom has a small shower stall (no tub) as well as a washer and dryer.
There is a nice grassy area around the house as well as many garden beds, trees, and birdhouses. Help yourself to the wild raspberries, strawberries, currants, and serviceberries that grow around the yard.

About the host
Hosted by Megan Ahern
My name is Megan, and my husband is Jeff. We have 2 amazing kids, and love spending time with them. We met in California, where I grew up, and lived there while Jeff served in the Marine Corps. When he got out in 2017, we decided to move to Lincoln, Nebraska and start our real estate business. Although that takes up most of our time, our greatest passion in life is travel! So we have combined two things we love, real estate and travel, to become vacation rental hosts!
Why they chose this property
We love this house because it has an amazing view and plenty of space for the whole extended family. We love coming up to Cooper Landing, AK for the salmon run each year. Fishing the the Russian River is our favorite thing to do when we are here but the area is teaming with amazing outdoor adventure activities. Whether you want to raft down the Kenai River with a fishing guide, fly fish for trout at Quartz Creek, hike or mountain bike the beautiful Resurrection Trail, hike the Russian River Falls Trail to watch the Salmon jump up the falls, this cabin will make a great home base. You can also take a day trip to Seward, Hope or Homer for even more Alaska sight seeing and adventures.
