Aero on Smiths Lake Family Home

Welcome to AERO, one of the few holiday homes in Smiths Lake with ABSOLUTE WATERFRONT and EASY & GENTLE ACCESS TO your own almost private part of the lakeside surrounded by shady trees.

This architect designed house radiates quality and a cosy atmosphere whilst offering two well ventilated levels of separate living areas and therefore great versatility for the family and friends.

The UPPER LEVEL offers a huge well equipped KITCHEN/LIVING AREA and MASTER BEDROOM with ENSUITE. Breakfast on the spacious upper deck whilst listening to the many different types of birds chatter to each other amongst the trees. Later on, it is the perfect spot to relax or you can curl up on one of the comfortable couches with a book while you watch the kids play on the large lawn area. The evening breeze that brings more sounds of birdlife from the lake is a relaxing addition to your day while a BBQ dinner is prepared.

The LOWER LEVEL has 2 bedrooms and is beautifully cool in summer, catching the breezes from the lake. It is just a gentle slope from here to the water where you can enjoy activities like kayaking, swimming, boating and sailing. Both levels have spacious decks from which to enjoy the fabulous lake views,
The 2 main bedrooms are spacious and provide wonderful views of the lake. The 3rd bedroom opens onto the lower deck and offers accommodation for 4.

AERO is the perfect spot for boating enthusiasts. Launch the boat at the ramp near Frothy Coffee Cafe, just 1.5km by road from the house. Then it is 1.6km by boat to your anchorage just in front of the house.

Aero is named after the picturesque summer holiday destination in southern Denmark. At Aero on Smiths Lake you will be able to enjoy year round sports - or just a quiet time.

During winter, the sun streams into the house during the day and the combustion stove provides wonderful Winter warmth at night.

Dreadful weather outside meant nothing to us. We were warm, cosy and comfortable. Marvellous wood fire, DVDs, CDs and plenty of space made this a wonderful weekend.Thank you for the extra little touches that make this place feel like home. Looking forward to returning soon.

What a gem!

Aero was just perfect for our family getaway. It had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfy. There was lots of space for our different age groups to relax, chat or play games. Then there was the view over the lake! Because Aero is set close to the lake reserve, you are surrounded by trees and are not aware of neighbouring houses. We will definitely be back.

Prior to booking in Sue initially gave me a call and explained how most recently she'd experienced some disrespectful guests. I shared my story and shortly after she approved my stay at her home. What a home. This is trip for myself, wife and family was definitely a highlight. The accommodation was exactly as detailed. Kayaks were in order, fans, kitchen, BBQ. Ideal trip in an ideal location. Sue was brilliant, the home was EXTREMELY spacious. The air quality was fantastic and more than anything there was ALL TYPES of CUTLERY available. Very greatful to Sue - would love to come back into the future. Just a heads up though - was expecting the backyard to have sandy shores but they were rocky banks. That's irrespective of Sue and the home ofcourse. 10/10 experience, very happy.

Aero was a great house for a family it had very thing you need for weekend get away. The kayaks were great the backyard backs on to the lake and even though it was raining we still had a great weekend.

Very good off street parking, looked like plenty of houses in the area had to park on the street, the house was well located, very close to a small supermarket if needed as well as the Frothy Coffee Café which puts out a great breakfast, beaches were a short drive as well. The house was well appointed with a great kitchen and plenty of outdoor decked area to sit on- outside was reasonably private from the neighbours. Lounge, bathrooms and bedrooms were great. The shoreline was pretty rocky which made it hard to duck in for a swim but there was some good fishing down by the water. All up a good property to stay at with plenty of space..

Exceptional fully kitted house

Unique in that there is a easy slope grassed area to the water. This is important as we had a rubber ducky, and laser and used the kayaks. The house is set up perfectly , or was originally, as a family home. The place is not bare , but has every small detail or equipment to cover any circumstances. The floor separation was ideal as my son needed to study downstairs. We will go again. Best steak at Smiths Lake bowling Club, best Pizza at Hueys at Blueys. Roger

Perfect family retreat

Absolutely loved our stay here. Loads of living space, great kitchen, dining, lounge area. Had everything we needed to relax. Our UK family loved the nightly possum visit and bird life. Will definitely be back! (Stayed Jan 2018)

Great house for all ages family holiday

A very good family house, with lots of space upstairs and downstairs. Very nice and spacious interiors with tasteful and comfortable furnishing. We were a family including teenagers to 80+ year old grandparents. Super view from the balcony. Very peaceful location with many birds visiting. Easy to swim in the lake directly from the property - even my 80 year old Mum managed this. Good kitchen equipment. Easy parking for 2 cars. Very good quality general store, bakery and liquor store plus takeaway at nearby shopping centre in Smith's Lake. Free use of the kayaks was a bonus. Very easy access to nearby beaches, including Cerrito beach and Seal Rocks.

Wonderful stay by the lake

Great lake house, very comfortable and spacious for a group of 5 friends. Love the large upstairs lounge area, we spent the evening watching a storm through the panoramic windows. Could not be any closer to the lake. The included kayaks were a great addition. Highly recommend!

We stayed in school holidays and although the weather was very windy most of the time all the kids were not bored. They fished & stayed out in the kayaks till dusk! The adults could watch them from the balcony & have drinks overlooking the water. House is large so a lot of people doesn't mean you feel crowded at all. Well equipped kitchen, laundry.

Great Retreat

We had a great, relaxing stay at Aero. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, crockery and everything you could need. Upstairs is spacious, light-filled and airy with views of the bush and lake from every window. Lots of birdlife and we also spotted a possum. It was great to have use of the kayaks and have the lake so close. The only down-side was for the people sleeping downstairs, there isn't a proper bathroom; there's a shower in the laundry room with a double towel rail and mirror, but there's no basin/vanity, only the laundry tub.

Highly recommend this peaceful waterfront property

Located in a quiet spot with direct access to Smiths Lake this property is surrounded by trees and has abundant bird life. Spacious upper level is excellent for all the family. Large kitchen and living areas with balcony overlooking the lake. We had 3 generations staying and everyone could find space to make their own. Very peaceful at night. The property is also a short drive from a number of excellent beaches. The property is well equipped and for us the kayaks were a hit with everyone. Highly recommend this property for families.

We love spending time at Aero. Kayaking, bushwalking and catching up with friends and guests. I'm not sure which space in the house is best to quietly curl up with a book and a coffee or glass and appreciate the beautiful Smiths Lake.

Why they chose this property

There is lots of things to do in the area for all ages. Beautiful walks, time spent at "the best beach I've ever seen" (according to recent guests). Water activities on the lake at the end of the garden or just enjoying the birdlife experienced in the area.

What makes this property unique

Aero is one of the few 4 bedroom properties available for short term lease with easy access to the lake. With large balconies on the lake side of the house there is many vantage points to appreciate beautiful Smiths Lake. Aero is a large house so can provide different spaces for different age groups in the family to gather. We regularly receive comments about the spaciousness of Aero.
