About this property
Peaceful holiday home
This lovely Bach is our family holiday home.
It's peaceful and quiet with lots of birdsong on a sunny day.
It's right next to the golf Coarse.
Cosy in the winter and nice and cool in the summer.
There's plenty of room for you to enjoy and a great safe place for children.
Having two Bathrooms makes it so easy for a family.
Our Kiwi Bach is only 8 km from the lovely French settlement of Akaroa on the banks Peninsular.
The Famous Barry's Bay cheeses are made just back down the road.
The space
our holiday home is spacious and compact at the same time. It has great indoor outdoor flow. It has two lounge areas. one TV is for DVDs ,the other for your viewing pleasure.
The kitchen is a lovely workable easy space with a dishwasher, oven with gas cook top and plenty of utensils and cutlery. There is a coffee pod machine. We supply a limited amount of pods
Guest access
Our guests can use all of the property respectfully. The Garage being the only exception. However if you need more refrigerator space then you may turn on and use the one in the Garage.
Also the pellets for the fire are in the garage as well.
Other things to note
If you happen to be a Golfer then are you in for a treat as the club rooms are a few hundred metres up the road and you are surrounded by The lovely Akaroa Golf coarse.
There are plenty of beautiful walks. Onawe peninsular being one close by. Children's bay another just out if Akaroa and many many more.
There are lots of wonderful eateries and a supermarket and Butchery.
Akaroa is extremely dog friendly as long as you clean up after your dog.
a wonderful place to exercise your dog is on the village green snd if you'd like a drive over to Okains bay then it's perfect there as well.
Dogs aren't really permitted in the summer or especially around Christmas and New Year.
It seems though that it's a casual rule

About the host
Hosted by Maree Handy

I'm a country girl. Myself and my partner were sheep and beef farmers.
We now live in our lifestyle farm just out of a lovely country town called Fairlie.
I love to spend my summers and autumn's away riding my horses. I do alot of back country riding. Getting away out in the hills.
We also have 2 GSP Dogs and a border collie plus chickens calves and sheep.
These keep myself and my partner very busy . We used to host people in our home and we loved meeting all sorts of people from all over the world. It's not so easy now we are more remote from the property.

Why they chose this property
Duvauchelles and Akaroa and the bays is such a beautiful area. The birds, the scenery, the bush walks and places to explore are numerous. The people are lovely and very helpful. It's a dog friendly place as well. There's lots to see and do in Akaroa which is only 8 km away from Duvauchelles.
What makes this property unique
I think really that our Bach is exactly that. Its just a basic family holiday Bach. A little retro and nothing really matches. We do understand that there are improvements to be made i guess but we just love that it's lock and leave and no fuss. We hope you appreciate that as well but we are open to suggestions lol
