Warm inviting cabin located in Au Train, Michigan. Look out your window and watch the gentle river flow, or better yet, sit on the large covered porch. Either way, you won't be farther than 50 feet from the water. If you're looking for adventure, this area has it all. Hiking biking, ATV's, snowmobile trails right down the road. But this river is known for its kayak and canoeing. It stretches nearly 7 miles, yet you end up 0.5 miles from where you started. Fish in the river or head up to Au Train lake. The lake is great for water sports, bird watching or swimming with a sand beach and campground. The sandy shores of Lake Superior are only 1 mile away. Located between Munising and Marquette, Au Train is the perfect place to settle down and enjoy all the U.P. has to offer. Firewood is available for purchase onsite

It was a great use of space. We split the place between 2 families and there was plenty of room. Quick and friendly response with owner. Had everything we needed and more!
This is an amazing property with great amenities. The property manager is excellent easy to work with and very helpful. My family has been returning to the spot here after year and will continue to do so five star for sure!
We really didn't want to leave when it came time to check out. It definitely made our stay up north all the more cozy. The sauna is heavenly, and the people running it were so kind over text.
This was a beautiful, quiet location just a mile from the beaches of Lake Superior. It was equipped with EVERYTHING we needed and was close to the amenities we were looking for. Owner was friendly and easy to work with. We would love to stay again!
We stayed with one other family. The property was clean, well-stocked, and easy to access. There were plenty of linens and the kids loved kayaking on the river.
We had a great experience here. Literally had everything we needed. Not to far from pictured rocks and a small down. Nice to be in the quiet for a couple days. Will definitely be back.
This cabin is fully stocked and has everything you could think of. 10 people, not one complaint! Perfect location for so many activities! The river was a great time kayaking! Highly recommend!!!
House had plenty of room for truck and trailers and parking of sleds. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of room for multiple people. Located about .5 mile from trail head, needed to ride road side to get there, but plenty of snow to make it work. Will definitely stay again!
We enjoyed our stay at the property. We appreciated the second bathroom with shower. We had our family of 8 there, plenty for them to do and lots of sleeping room. Cindy was easy to get ahold of. Thanks again. We hope to be back.
Home had everything we needed plus some. Loved the toys and games available for all ages. Only thing I would suggest is while its under construction to hang a curtain up for a bedroom door. It overall worked out perfectly for us and would definitely stay again.
Our summer vacation started off late and we had limited options until we found this spot which was perfect. For a family that is active, this location has everything needed from access to beaches, swimming, kayaking, fishing or just exploring - the perfect spot to put down a base camp. The owners are attentive and communicate quickly. They are very open to answering questions and the check-in/out process was seamless. Honestly, just a great location that is a bit rugged but quiet at night. We were able to cook some meals and the kitchen is fully stocked to be able to have a decent meal. All in all, if we return back to the area, we would definitely see about it's availabilty.
Was a great location. Close to the river with an abundance of canoe & kayaks to choose from. Beds were very comfortable. We were left a message that said that she was moving in next door and to excuse the garage mess. The lady next door (who is the caretaker of the property) greeted us nicely and when we asked if she could chain -up her dog when we were out with ours on a leash said she would. The place is dark even with more than enough overhead lighting. We always travel with flashlights and we were glad we did. You will need them. The trash was already piled up in the can and when we left was now overflowing. The biggest problem was that the turnaround area is scattered with nails that will either puncture your tires or skin. This is total disregard for the people staying here. PLEASE take care of this soon. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.
We had a short two night stay at this property, and loved it! The house is located near several other rental cabins, and despite the fact that most were occupied at the time, the whole area was super quiet. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the riverfront access, but it would definitely be an added bonus for those looking to kayak/canoe in the area. The house is spacious and comfy--it truly felt like a home instead of a rental. The living room furniture and beds are super comfy. The kitchen had everything you could need and more. We didn't have phone service in the area, but the home's Wifi was fast and efficient. The home serves as a fantastic base for travel to the cute nearby town of Munising (highly recommend the Pictured Rocks Cruise, by the way) and Au Train Beach is literally less than five minutes away. The host was super responsive and kind, and extremely helpful. If you are looking to get away from it all in the UP, this is the place to book!

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Photos need updating
Very clean, was happy to find a king size bed rather than a full as stated in the listing. Kitchen was well stocked. Number of beds great for families or groups with kids. Thank you for being dog friendly.
Gave four for cleanliness due to the unfinished drywall patch in the bathroom where the door was moved, apparently over a year ago based on other's reviews. The newly installed barn door slides open about four inches after being 'closed'... luckily it faces the hallway, not the living room.
House faces east and we found it to be quite dark inside in the afternoon and evening.
Listing photos could be updated to show current condition of fire pit area (no Adirondack chairs, picnic table ten feet away instead), dining area (kitchen chairs replaced by banquet chairs), living room (different sectional, recliner added, no floor lamp), and bathroom (see above).
All in all, stay was just ok, not as nice as we expected based on listing photos.
For the price this place can't be beat! You get everything you could need for your stay in a great location. The house is the last one on a dead end so no traffic with a great view of the river. Only thing we were bummed about was that the sauna wasn't available, but that was a small thing for the great value you get staying here. Hoping to come back next year. Cindy is a very responsive host! Thank you!
We had a great stay. The cabin was very clean and has everything you need.Very quiet and peaceful. This was our third time staying at this location. So nice to getaway from the city. We'll be back next year. Also Cindy (owner) really nice and easy to get ahold of.
This is a great place. It's a great central location in the U.P., whether you kayak or not. It was great to have a washer and dryer as an option. Cindy is a wonderful host!
Great for pet owners. We did not have a pet with us. After two nights we finally killed the last of the eighteen flys in the cabin on our arrival???Full dusting, window cleaning and no flys would likely have more quests booking a second stay. The cabin could easily charge a higher rate if these basics were addressed.
