The Apartment on Main

This newly renovated, 3 bedroom apartment provides comfort and convenience for your Clare Valley get-away. Situated in the heart of Clare's Main Street it is only a few minutes walk to local facilities. Hotels, coffee-shops, wineries, supermarkets, the world renowned Riesling trail, art galleries, swimming pool and gymnasium - it is all less than 5 minutes walk!

The Apartment on Main sleeps 6. There are 2 Queen beds and 1 double bed. All beds are made up with quality linen for your comfort and enjoyment.

The kitchen and bathroom have both been beautifully renovated and a dishwasher and washing machine are provided.

The Apartment is on the 2nd floor of a historical building and boasts character and comfort. Originally the Savings Bank of South Australia, the building was built in 1930 and the upper floor has been recently renovated to provide a fresh and vibrant living space. You will especially enjoy sitting at the balcony bar as you appreciate a glass of fine Clare Valley wine and take in the views of the township. Being newly renovated, all of the facilities are fresh and new.

Whilst the kitchen is perfectly well appointed for you to cook your own meals, why not walk across the road to the locally renowned Bentley's Hotel or our very popular Indian Restaurant. A short stroll down the main street will have you at the award winning Seed Winehouse and Restaurant or head in the other direction to Mr. Micks winery. All of this is within a 1km radius of this very special apartment.

If you enjoy the outdoors, you are only 500 meters from the start of the Riesling Trail. Walking or riding the trail are popular local activities and Clare valley bike hire is only a short walk away.

With all of this literally on your doorstep, you can park the car securely and spend the rest of your break on foot. So much to enjoy - we guarantee you will have a great time staying at the Apartment on Main.

Please be aware that as we enjoy the convenience of the Bentley Hotel across the road, this can also be somewhat noisy on some weekends. On Saturday nights there is often a DJ or live entertainment. As we are unaware of the dates that the hotel has live entertainment, there is little we can do to pre-warn guests about this.

Large comfortable rooms- AVOID on weekends -pub across the road EXTREMELY loud!

It’s a lovely old property, high ceilings, polished floors, very good sized rooms. We knew about the pub across the road- but we needed enough rooms close to a property in Clare for a wedding, so we took a chance. The first night (Friday night) wasn’t too bad (noise wise) but the 2nd bedroom has an external door to the balcony with glass, that you couldn’t block out any light. Second night was truly awful due to the noise from the pub. It seemed to reverberate right through you and went until 1.30am. A couple of smaller Niggles- no door handles on the top kitchen cupboards- very hard to open those! The bathroom has a separate toilet, which would be great if there was a door to the toilet, so other people could be in the shower & others could still go to the toilet. The toilet was quite low- felt like a child size but it was ok- not a deal breaker! There was no extraction fan above the stove/ toaster, which resulted in the smoke alarm going off excruciatingly loudly due to burnt toast! Just these few fixes would make it a brilliant place to stay if you are there during the week when the pub’s not pumping out the noise- or if you’re a late nighter who is at the pub enjoying the music until late!

Quick Clare getaway

Nicely renovated apartment located right on the main street within walking distance of a good range of cafes, coffee shops etc. When we arrived & had trouble turning on the air conditioner. Leanne arrived promptly with batteries & a block of chocolate!

Quaint Apartment

We had a great stay here, the rental process was easy and it was a Quaint Apartment would definitely go back. The location was awesome being in the Main Street close to everything. Beautiful area.

The property is lovely, beds super comfy. Walking distance to so many great eatery and winery’s... was a little noisy with the pub across the road but the comfy beds made sure sleep 🛏 overruled the noise !

Clare Trip 2020 - Apartment on Main

The property location meant we had access to all of the amenities in Clare. It allowed us to walk or take a short car ride to all the local sights and wineries. It was nice to also be able to lounge around and stay in if we needed a rest. It was nice as friends that we could all stay together in one place. Nice balcony views for a wine. Walking distance to all dining in Clare.

Great apartment and location. Only downside is there is no separate door for toilet so can’t use if someone in the bathroom. Door has been taken off for some reason.

Great Location

This was perfect for our group of 3 couples to explore Clare. Right on the main street , pub and Indian restaurant across the road, short walk to the supermarket. Very clean, two queen beds and one double as well as a trundle bed if needed. New kitchen, neat bathroom and semi enclosed verandah. Needless to say, some noise from the pub on a Saturday night, but only an issue if you are a light sleeper. Would definitely stay again.

We had a fun girls weekend away in Clare! Leanne was a great host and replied to questions very quickly! Good location, tidy place and suited our needs. Comfy beds but definitely noticed the noisy pub across the road on Saturday night!

Looks better in the photos. For the cost I would have expected something better. The fabric on the lounge needs cleaning (I wouldn't sit on it) and ants in the toilet area. Towels were bleach stained and hard and stiff. Small things but they make a difference.

Location opposite local Pub far too noisy

Whilst The Apartment is located conveniently on the main street of Clare, we underestimated the loud and very late music from the pub directly across the road. We could not sleep on 2 evenings during our 3 night stay. Sleep is important to us on holiday and it felt like our bed was in the middle of the pub's courtyard. The echo from the pub meant we not only heard music until very late into the night but also people's conversations. Will not return.

Beautiful apartment in prime location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apartment was bright and clean with lovely amenities. The apartment even had a balcony and breakfast bar which was a lovely surprise!
