Harmonica is a unique, large (40 sqm) modern mountain-chic studio apartment. We have designed Harmonica with comfort and relaxation in mind, with a modern mountain feel in mind. Situated on the spectacular scenic escarpment of Cliff Drive. Less than 100 metres to the stunning Cahill`s Lookout and its views overlooking the Megalong Valley and Narrow Neck. Surrounded by numerous bush walking tracks, an abundance of fresh mountain air and tranquillity. Only an 8-minute drive from Katoomba railway station and numerous attractions of the world-famous Blue Mountains. Leura, Wentworth Falls, Medlow Bath and Blackheath are all within a short drive. Enjoy all that this UNESCO-listed area has to offer, including boutique shopping, gourmet dining, beautiful gardens, artisan markets, heritage-listed buildings and a calendar of events.
A luxurious queen-sized timber bed with an assortment of duck down and European-sized pillows overlooking the front garden. Fully equipped brand new kitchen with concrete bench tops, a feature copper splashback, popular quality branded appliances and an induction cooktop. Ideal for simple meals or complex gourmet feasts. LG Smart TV with Netflix and all on-demand TV channels. An assortment of books, magazines & board games to entertain on those rainy days or lazy days. Complimentary WIFI. Reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you warm and toasty during winter or cool in Summer. Outdoor table setting to bask in the westerly sun overlooking the front garden and escarpment.
My wife and I live upstairs with our 5 yrs old son. We have sound insulation between the floors, and the apartment is above our bedrooms; however, you are still likely to hear everyday family sounds.
There is no smoking in the apartment or anywhere in the garden. As we live upstairs and don`t want the smoke smell in or around the house. If you are a smoker, you may want to consider staying somewhere else. We have a dog, but it is separated from your access by a fence. If you do meet them, they are super-friendly, well-socialised fox terriers.
You have access to the apartment from your own off-street parking space through the back garden. You are free to enjoy the front garden, which leads over to the lookout. The only restricted area is through the black gate next to the apartment front door (about a 5th of the garden), where our dog can go outside.
A car is recommended to get to the apartment and around. We are located on the edge of the escarpment 4kms from Katoomba. There is a local bus from 700 metres away.

Lovely Stay
We have enjoyed our trip heaps! Lovely place to stay, neat, clean, warm and very relaxing! Was rainy much of the time, but the mountains looked more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!!! Highly recommend staying here!
We were very happy with this accommodation and the manager. Very convenient location and extra special that we could just walk across to Cahill's Lookout. Would definitely stay here again :)

Thanks Patti, you are our 3 guests to stay, and it's so great to get 5 stars as our first review!
The aim for our stay was to go bush walking and this was a great place in the center of some fantastic walks! Place was very clean and cosy to be in with some nice added board games and fast wifi for warm nights in. Loved the stay.
Property was a short walk to a beautiful perch in Blue Mountains to watch sunsets. Host was helpful and quick to respond. Place was clean and it had everything we needed. Would recommend staying here. Short drive to sights, trails and restaurants.
We had such a beautiful stay at Harmonica. Easy communication with the hosts.
The apartment had everything we needed. The best part was how close it was to the cliffs/ lookouts/ beautiful walks. We had so much fun exploring.
The perfect location to relax, recharge and reinvigorate. Lovely hosts. Very quiet area. Excellent walks from the front door.A great kitchen with everything you need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. Comfortable and warm. Wonderful sunsets. We would not need to consider anywhere else for a return visit to the Blue Mountains.
The place was real pleasant and so close to everywhere we needed to be. Michael was a great host and was always so quick to respond. We actually had a family tragedy just a couple of days before our stay, which meant a bit of rescheduling, and Michael was very understanding and quick to accommodate for our needs. Thanks again for having us Michael!
We spent a week at Harmonica in Winter and the place was comfortable and warm.
The provisions were incredible with many food staples already provided and Netflix for entertainment.
The shower was hot and the towels were soft.
Location was perfect - within walking distance of Cahill's Lookout and far enough from the town to be quiet.
The only negative for the week was that wooden floors transmitted every bump from upstairs and we were startled a number of times when something was dropped, however this did not detract from a relaxing holiday.
Thanks Michael.

What an amazing location just opposite lookout where we watched beautiful sunsets. Everything you need is in the studio. Host is quick to reply to any questions
Would definitely come back again
Comfortable apartment close to magnificent views and hikes
The apartment is located just out of town in a quiet area close to several lookouts with magnifcent views and walks such as the Narrow Neck Trail. The apartment was very comfortable, sufficiently spacious for the two of us, and all we needed in the kitchen to self-cater for our 7-night stay. Having the owners living upstairs took a couple of days to get used to, but they were very helpful, friendly and took only minutes to respond to and requests.
Thank you for taking care of us for our stay in the Blue Mountains! Was a beautiful trip and we were very comfortable in the cosy little apartment!
Look forward to visiting again!
Great experience with good recommendations for dining, and sightseeing by the host. Well kept accomodation with above and beyond appliances. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants a nice, cozy and calm getaway .

About the host
Hosted by Michael
We spend 10 years living in Bondi and work in Sydney because The Blue Mountains were just a bit far to commute from every day. But we finally made to move to permanently live in the Blue Mountains.
Since I grew up in countryside England I need the escape from the city. We saw Piccolo in 2010 and both Holly and I knew we needed to buy it to rest and relax from the pressure of city live.
I'm sure there are many of you that feel the same and we hope you enjoy our little mountain getaway.
Why they chose this property
There were two reasons we bought this property. 1. That we could live upstairs and there was the space to develop holiday rentals downstairs. 2. The view....
What makes this property unique
We are away from town, but close to everything you would need to visit during your stay. There are no streetlights, so the night sky is amazing. There is extraordinarily little traffic and the silence is bliss. That view, the lookout is 20metre from the house and is beautiful at any times, but the sunsets are spectacular.
