Kingscote has the basic essentials (Eg supermarket, bakery, petrol, restaurants), and is great base for exploring the island. Char’s place is very clean, comfortable, spacious, on a very large block. Very quiet. The hosts are great advisers of what to do / not to do etc. Lovely.

This was a great little house to stay in and it was very comfortable. It was very welcoming to come home in the evening after dark to be able to relax. Char had left a lovely welcoming package with all the tourist areas to see. There were also discount vouchers for most of the places so we used these too. The house was beautiful and clean when we arrived and it was in a nice quiet location. I have recommended to my daughter and family they go to KI for a holiday and to stay here.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to host your stay and I am so thrilled your enjoyed your time on Kangaroo Island. Cheers, Char
What a cute little cottage. 2 bedroom and everything we needed. The location is close to the centre of Kingscote and so many touristy places to visit.
We had a great holiday.
The house is very clean. two bed rooms with two double beds and a bunk and a single bed in lounge room. Big enough for 7 persons to stay. Everything for cooking is available. Sea view from room. The host is very helpful. We checked in about 10pm. It is dark and took a little time to find the door. Called the host and she helped us nicely. if you want to stay in the Island for a few days I recommend the place to you. It is close to shops and petrol stations.

Thankyou so much Kehe. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay on Kangaroo Island.
Best wishes

Reasonable location. Very poor bumpy road access with huge potholes just inside gate. Reasonably priced.
Kingscote has nowhere to eat out on Sunday evening and choices limited during the week.
Other attractions on the Island are excellent and there are good lunches to be had.

About the host
Hosted by Char Pahl
I was born in 1958 growing up on a farm in Langkoop, Western Victoria (close to the Victorian border). I lived in Naracoorte, South Australia for some years prior to moving to Adelaide where I was based until 1994. In December 1994 I made the move to Kangaroo Island. I have two wonderful adult children.
Why they chose this property
I holidayed on Kangaroo Island frequently for many years before moving here. I wanted to raise my children in a country-based environment and loved the peace and beauty of Kangaroo Island. Kingscote was a good choice because it is central to all activities, schooling, sightseeing opportunities, dining and retail outlets.
What makes this property unique
Clarice's Cottage is a great home away from home. I have tried to provide everything you might need as a traveller.
