About this property

Sierra Vista Guest House-With Hot Tub For Stargazing-No Extra Cleaning/Pet Fees

A newly-built (just completed on 9/26/2016) guesthouse in the heart of the Old West. We also own and manage the sister property #454664. Please check out the wonderful reviews. There are no shared walls between the two properties, and they each have their own entrance.

We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this bungalow guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.

Sit out on the large private patio and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. There is a 6-foot privacy fence around the majority of the patio. The patio also has a 22x5-foot long sitting area that is open to our pasture to the south. You can sit out, drink your coffee, and watch the sun come up. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.

After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a brand-new KitchenAide gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.

As you enter the bungalow, you see the attention to detail. The room has a contemporary feel, with a strong accent of the industrial age. The main room is very open, with a kitchen that comes well-equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances. It has a full-size refrigerator, double-bin sink, a very nice gas cook-top, a large convection microwave, and a dishwasher . It also has a toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, and everything you would need to cook a wonderful meal. There is a breakfast bar that seats 4 people. It adds extra counter top space, or you can enjoy your meals there.

The living area has two large couches that double as XL twin beds. Just pull off the back cushions, put the sheets on, and you are ready for bed. The linens are stored in the space below the couches. The dining room table seats 4 comfortably, and is made from an antique drafting table. There is a 40-inch television set in the living area.

The bedroom is very spacious. It has a king-size bed, a dresser with two large drawers for folded clothes, an armoire to hang clothes, and a built-in luggage rack. There is also a 40-inch television set in the bedroom.

The bathroom has a very spa-like feel, from the tile work and the stainless steel accents to the two vessel sinks and the endless counter top space. The walk-in shower is the the size of a tiny house, with lots of room to move around. This bathroom has to be experienced to be appreciated.

There is a stackable washer and dryer, as well as a separate closet to hang your clothes. Other amenities include an iron and ironing board, another portable luggage rack, and a Pack-and-Play for those with small children.

The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.

Check-in time is 4PM. Check-out time is 11AM. There is a $10/guest per night fee for more than two people.

If you are looking for a smaller, more intimate space, please check out our other property, 454664.

Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.

FANTASTIC cabin! It's beautiful, so well designed and the perfect location for exploring Alpine, Davis Mountains State Park, McDonald Observatory and Big Bend National Park. Great place for sunrise, sunset and night sky photography! We had a wonderful time & it was hard to leave. The hosts are awesome and we want to come back sometime in the spring!

We got the quiet of the country while only being 5 minutes from the amenities of Alpine. Museum of Big Bend, great food and art galleries. Austin is weird but Alpine is far out!Steve and Lisa were so friendly but never obtrusive. Just fed their animals and asked us if everything was okay. Would recommend this place to anybody!

Great stay for the M2M!

Great location minutes from town but far enough out for complete peace and quiet. Amazing sunsets and night sky viewing (especially from the hot tub). Hosts were friendly and quick to respond. A perfect launching point for any other adventures in the area!

Perfect ending to our trip

The location is great, far enough from town but not too far to drive in. Rental itself is excellent, has everything you need and more. Hosts are flexible and friendly. If you stay anywhere else in Alpine, you’re getting ripped off.

It’s a beautiful well kept place. You can relax inside or on the porch to enjoy the animals or at night to look at the stars. This will be our go to place when we go to the alpine area.

Excellent place to stay with pets

Very private rental, hosts live on the property however it's situated with a private entrance. Very pet friendly with a fenced yard to exercise your dog. The rental was clean and very comfortable. We spent a week and was able to do most of our meals there. Hosts were very accommodating.

Alpine Awesome!

We had such a wonderful stay here and would definitely return to stay here. Accommodations exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect to access Alpine, Fort Davis and Marfa. We even made it down to Big Bend. I would give it a rating higher than 5 stars if i could. Great hosts.

Close to Big Bend National Park

We arrive to friendly farm animals and a cozy warm guest house. Lisa and Steve have a lovely well appointed home. Everything that you would need while staying at their home. The hot tub was amazing after long hikes at the end of the day. The night sky is spectacular sitting in the hot tub. We truly enjoyed our relaxing vacation and hope to come back again!

Getaway

We live on Galveston Island. We needed a getaway due to the Lone Star Bike Rally at home. We decided to go somewhere peaceful away from the constant rumble of 400000 motorcycles. We also always wanted to visit the McDonald Observatory, Fort Davis Historic Grounds and check out The Davis Mountains. Texas 118 is a great road to take to see all that. North on 118 out of Alpine we hit interstate 10 and headed east to see Balmorea state park also. Highly recommend seeing the beautiful oasis in an otherwise arid surrounding. We had a fantastic time.

Wonderful Property

This rental far exceeded our expectations. It was probably the best short-term rental we have ever stayed in. It was a very relaxing place to stay and the view of the distant mountains and local animals was very peaceful. In side the home was very modern with a touch of rustic decor, just right for its location. The furniture, including the bed, was perfect, extremely comfortable. Kitchen was just what we needed and we could have even cooked more. Full laundry. Everything was sparkling clean and quite new. Directions sent for check-in were very specific and helpful. Check-in was easy.

Beautiful, immaculate and well appointed guest house. Outstanding proximity to everything the area has to offer. We were highly entertained by the animals and enjoyed the clean and comfortable hot tub a couple of evenings. We appreciated the fresh eggs that Lisa left for us, they were delicious! Would definitely stay again when visiting Alpine and the surrounding areas.

The Hot tub was clean, heated and waiting for our arrival! Greatly appreciated after an exerting outdoor adventure. I also appreaciated the fire pit had Tinder, Kindling and Fuel, all ready for use. Bathroom was well equipped as was the Kitchen. Secret bonus: fresh eggs in the fridge from the hens. Oval great country charm with goats chickens and ducks for for entertaining viewing.

Amazing!

Highly recommend staying here when visiting Alpine. It felt like home away from home had everything we could have possibly needed. I booked the listing for the hot tub for my mom since she has chronic pain and we have a hot tub back at our home that she uses almost daily. Our expectations were surely exceeded. We will definitely be staying here when we come back to Alpine. Very sweet and friendly host.

What an awesome property!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was super relaxing sitting out in the outdoor space and being entertained by the friendly farm animals. During feeding time there were even special visits by some wild blue scaled quail. What a show! The property was super clean and the hosts were very friendly and responsive to any needs. We would not hesitate coming back again.

We bought the property 9 years ago, and have built everything on the property ourselves. We decided to open up our wonderful abode to others to let them enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

After our first VRBO dwelling did so well, I decided to open another one. Since we enjoy building so much, we decided to build another guesthouse here on our property. We hope that you enjoy staying in it as much as we enjoyed building it.
