Serenity Pines in Boulder Canyon

Beautiful cabin located in a serene setting of Black Hills pine trees between Sturgis and Deadwood in Boulder Canyon. Situated on a gravel road 1.5 miles off of Highway 14A, Deadwood and Sturgis are only 6 miles in either direction. The gravel road is winding and steep in places but the journey is worth the mountain views and wildlife viewing. If you like to golf, the Boulder Canyon Golf Course is only 2 miles from the cabin. Quiet, secluded area with scenic views of the Black Hills. Sit on the huge deck and enjoy coffee or a cocktail and watch the deer and turkeys walk through the property. We recently added a propane fire pit on the deck to enjoy in the evenings.

The main floor has an open floor plan with full equipped kitchen and living room with walk-out deck to grill, sit outside, and enjoy the scenery. The living room has comfortable recliners, a couch, and a flat screen TV and DVD player to watch movies. . There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and full bath on the main floor. The cabin has a huge open loft with 2 queen beds and 1 full bed up stairs.

The lower level has a walkout basement with a couch hide-a-bed and a table/chairs to play cards or board games. There is also a full bathroom and laundry facilities which can be used by guests. A small roll-away bed is located in the laundry room. Several yard games are available in the utility area for guest use.

Only 2.5 miles away from trails for riding UTV's or ATV's.

Nice location and beautiful cabin with plenty of room. However, the cabin could have been cleaner. Very dusty plus ceiling fans covered in dust. Dead bugs everywhere (Tis the season but might want to figure out where they are gettin in at) I tried to clean them up but became a daily struggle. Drive up to cabin is curvy but not bad at all. Overall it had everything we needed for a nice long weekend in the hills.

Cabin in the woods

Cabin was beautiful, so peaceful and cozy. Plenty of room for the whole family. The wrap around deck and seating was perfect for family visiting. My 4a.m. coffee under the morning stars was heavenly and the deer came to visit everyday. Plenty of sleeping spaces and two full baths. The cabin has everything you need for a great stay!

We came for the Bike Rally. Awesome location for the many sights to visit! We were all very comfortable and had everything we needed. We saw deer daily and turkeys! Keep the blinds open when inside so you can see them. Wonderful place!

Relaxing in the back woods

We had a great time in the Black Hills and resting at this home. While it might be a challenging drive off pavement, we had no problem getting in or out. Close up with nature everyday. And far enough off the main highway to not be disturbed by the road noise. Comfortable, clean and scenic.

We absolutely loved our stay up the mountain! So quiet and beautiful up there! Mid May and had snow and sleet and rain...typical SD! Wonderful to have a place to be cozy and together as a family ! So pretty, we got married here!

After already planning this vacation and then getting engaged, we decided to look for places in SD to get married. We decided the scenery was pretty enough, we just did it right here! It worked out great and we got some great pics! Needless to say, we will never forget this cabin! We loved mornings and evenings on the porch the most. It was great to have the basement area for the older kids to hang out at night and not disturb us past our bedtime! One thing to note, I see a lot of people have said cell phone service is great. But, it is not great if you have Verizon(it does still work though). I’m thinking a lot of those reviews are AT&T carriers. But hey, it’s up in the hills so that’s to be expected! I would bring some board games as there was only 1 travel size game to play. There was sometimes a sewage smell, and we had a day or two close to the end of our stay that it was pretty bad. I’m still giving 5 stars though, because I feel like that is something that is probably out of their control and we still very much so enjoyed our stay.

Great place but tight if you have a trailer.

I have a 36 foot enclosed trailer that we haul side-by-side in and my friend has a 46 foot enclosed trailer. We were able to get them both in there by backing up the driveway. Both of them did get a little damage from the steep switchbacks on the road. I don’t recommend taking a trailer longer than 26 foot.
