Charming country home with a nice scenic outdoor area. We were a group of adults and children and we really enjoyed our time here being so close to nature and the kids enjoying being able to run around in the outdoor area. The backyard garden area with a bbq and a large table were great bonuses as well as the bonfire stove. Overall we had a great relaxing few days and would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to escape to the country for a few days.
Came to do some hiking with some friends. Central location if you are looking to do the fire towers!
House as described, though with an older home, the doors are a little wonky.
Kitchen pretty well supplied, could use a pasta pot and regular frying pans (there is a cast iron pan). The crock pot was a plus!
Nice Solo Stove out back - we were lucky with the weather and had a nice cocktail hour outside!
Loved the charm of the house… we love old homes. You can just imagine all of the history inside and outside of the home with the church across the street and the firehouse right next door. Very clean. Great price and location. We were there for a weekend snowboarding trip (Belleayre Mt.) Beautiful scenery for pics right outside of the home and on our drive to the mountain. Great communication with Irene. Thank you!

Why they chose this property
We love the Catskills!!! The area is hip, cool and everything in between. We also love history, and this house is one of the rare examples of true Victorian architecture in the area. Built in the late 1800s, the house has undergone a thorough modernization reflected it its amenities and décor. We hope you love it as much as we do!
Our Top 10 Favorite Things to do: 10. The World's largest kaleidoscope and Woodnotes, the restaurant, that serves a very nice breakfast (white tablecloths), both at the Emerson complex on 28. 9. Horseriding: Mountain Brook Farm and Dancing Horse Farm in Windham. 8. If you like history: a former Colgate mansion, is now a Deer Mountain Inn, and is open to the public as a restaurant. 7. Windham movie theater: you sit on plush couches, enjoying food, while watching a big-screen performance. 6. Local brew: West Kill brewing at the end of Spruceton Road. 5. Hangout: Spruceton Inn was once a haunt of Arnold Swartzenegger. 4. Culture: Tannersville offers a number of options, including art galleries and music venues. Tannersville also has the best fun lunch: Mama's Boy in Tannersville is a pure joy. 3. Hiking: We are within 5-15 minutes from the best hiking trails Catskills has to offer. Trails lead up Hunter Mountain to the fire tower from the end of the Spruceton road. 2. Dining: Peek-a-Moose in Pine Hill is a tasteful dinner conglomerate run by ex-Gramercy Tavern chef that includes a formal dining room, great bar with local beer, and an outdoor fire pit with cocktail service and s'mores. Phoenicia Diner is cool and Phoenician Steakhouse makes great steak. For best ribs ever and great kid-friendly food, head out to Chicken Run in Windham. Our French friends' favorite Shandaken Inn offers tasteful and civilized contemporary take on haute French food. If you long for a hip Williamsburg vibe, head over to Chappies in Roxbury. 1. Breathtaking endless mountain views from dining area under the trees! The best place to enjoy a dinner al fresco.
