Husband said this was his favorite place we’ve stayed at in FairPlay of the many we’ve tried. Location is perfect. House was clean and had everything we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Fairplay. The entire experience was seamless with clear instructions for check-in and check-out. The place was spacious with even more room than we anticipated and a super nice deck to relax on after long days in the mountains. We would definitely stay here again!
Our crew has stayed a this rental for several weeks working on a project nearby; could not ask for a better location and rental home for 4 guys; everything you need and more
The cabin was clean and comfortable.we were in town for a short stay and the cabin met all our needs. There was an issue with the Roku tv and the owner provided immediate assistance.
We had a great time staying here. Some of the check in instructions I received in the text were different than the book in the vrbo. But overall great cabin and clean!

Wedding planning trip
We enjoyed the stay very much; from check in to check out. As advertised; easy to find, easy access and beautiful views. We didn’t need much, the house is well stocked and our host was quick to respond. They have a great book for quick reference and local information. Happy ladies for sure!
Just what we were looking for. Close to our job site and close to town. VERY well appointed, comfortable, clean..very nice! We have booked for the next 2 weeks as well.
We enjoyed staying here for a family summer trip. It was in a convenient location to the many areas we visited. It is in a small neighborhood and close to other homes, but this was not a problem. It will be even better once the trees fill in more. Had some issues with the internet but everyone was helpful and responded quickly. Enjoyed the home, nicely furnished and the postcards from the owners were a nice touch.
The cabin was nice and the owner put a lot of thought into the details for her guests. Our family wanted to get away for the weekend, and it was a good place to relax and see some scenery along the way. However, there is not much to do in Fairplay outside of some local hiking trails and fly fishing. If you are passing through Colorado and need a place to stay, this is likely a more affordable option than Breckinridge. If you need a place to stay in the winter for skiing, this would also be a nice option as well since it's within driving distance of Breck. The cabin is close to a busy highway and a dirt road with pretty views of the mountains but nowhere to safely walk. The town is small and sort of dumpy, and the only playground was under construction while were there, leaving us with nothing to do with our kids. The upstairs queen bed was comfortable but the downstairs and twin beds were sunken in so our parents did not sleep well. The cabin was clean and acceptable on the inside; I liked that it had three bedrooms; it was very easy to get to; and the check-in process was simple.

Hi Meredee, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:
- We're glad you thought our cabin was lovely
- While the bed downstairs is less than 1.5 years old, we know that mattress preference is unique to each guest, and we were sorry to hear that your parents weren't fully comfortable during your stay
- We will also look into replacing the mattresses in the upstairs bedroom
- We do list activities on our listing, so our future guests know what's available before going to Fairplay. There's gold panning for kids, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and many more outdoor activities for the whole family
- Many visitors walk around the community and down the dirt road
safely, but we're sorry if this impacted your stay
Thanks for reviewing your stay as we continue hosting many satisfied guests!
The House was very nice and had all needed amenities. House was clean, the kitchen had all needed utensils, pots, pans, containers, and all appliances worked well. The beds were very good. Fairplay is in a great location for hiking, White Water Rafting, Etc. all kinds of summer fun. The road into Fairplay from Denver is actually much easier to navigate than the Interstate.
The house is easy to find, close to gas stations, grocery store, and parking was convenient and close.
I would recommend, but renter should know that the house is on a lot in town surrounded closely by other houses.
Beautiful and cozy cabin in a nice and quiet area! The grandkids LOVED their bedrooms upstairs!
Property manager was outstanding and responded within minutes to our texts!! When arriving at night, we did have a little trouble finding the unit. Property manager was kind enough to turn on lights, set thermostat and start the fireplace! Nice and toasty on a very chilly night! Would definitely stay again!

Excellent Stay!
The cabin was great! Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. An easy walk to town. Our guest contact, Mandy, was extremely responsive and very helpful.
The house is lovely and fit the needs of three adults and a dog.
It is near highway 285 but the traffic is not loud. It is in a neighborhood, so if solitude is your goal, this would not be right for you. I enjoyed walking the dog around the neighborhood. You could see the mountains in the distance, but buildings would be in the pictures, unless you cropped them out. You can see the mountains out the kitchen windows, but be aware you are in a neighborhood with houses and cars nearby. The kitchen could use more towels and a new coffee pot. It was a nice rental, with two bathrooms, washer and dryer, a grill and a covered deck. It was also close to town, and you could easily explore Breckinridge and Frisco.
We had a great week in this cozy cabin in Fairplay. We were looking for a COVID-safe change of scenery and a chance to play in the mountains and this rental worked perfectly. It was great fit for our family of 5 + dog.
The cabin was clean, comfy and well stocked with kitchen supplies, bath towels, paper towels etc.. There was a nice selection of movies and games for the evenings. The owners provided a dog crate too and that was a huge help – one less large item to haul with us from WI!
Good WiFi meant we could work and learn remotely with ease. When we were done with work and school we'd take the pretty 35min drive through the mountains to ski and snowshoe in Breckenridge.
A small grocery store nearby made it easy to stock up on supplies to cook all of our meals at the cabin.
We’d stay again and would especially like to visit in the summer to take advantage of the rafting, hiking and fishing options in the area.

Communication
When we arrived at the property, the outside temperature was below freezing. In the cabin, the thermostat was off and registered 50 degrees in the cabin. The kitchen floor was dirty and the carpet had not been vacuumed. A previous tennant’s shirt was found on the floor in one of the upstairs bedrooms, candy was found on the floor under the table and 8 garbage bags were on the deck. I notified Mary 4 times, only receiving a response once that should was attempting to reach management. It would have been nice to know if the cabin had been cleaned especially during the times of COVID.

Aaron, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We hate hearing that the home was not in perfect condition during your stay and we appreciate you letting us know. We've shared your feedback with the homeowners; while they wish they had been given the opportunity to make things right during your stay, they let us know that this is not the standard they set for the cleaning team and this cleaner will not be cleaning for them again. Thank you again for your feedback and for helping us to ensure future guests can enjoy a 5-star stay!
