Located in Metchosin, just 30 minutes to Victoria or Sooke. Hidden Pond's luxury Gong Suite is the perfect romantic or family getaway for anyone looking for peace and tranquility. Spacious, two rooms with private entrance, basic kitchen facilities, luxury king bed, sofa bed, tastefully furnished with two sitting areas overlooking an amazing forest view makes this perfect for a couple or family. The suite includes the use of a hot tub, firepit, and just a short walk to our private beach, spring-fed swimming pond, orchard, and forest trails. The suite has a full-size bathroom with tub and shower, Air conditioning, Internet, TV, and basic kitchen (BQ with side-burner, kettle, coffee maker, breakfast grill, toaster oven, microwave, full-size fridge, sink and basic and spices and kitchen supplies. ) Pet-friendly and short and long stay rates are available.

Please note this suite has stairs and it is a walk down to the pond , so this might not be a great option for anyone who has mobility issues.

Absolutely magical property - I would give it more than 5* if I could for the environment! The hidden pond really is beautiful and our golden retriever loved to swim in it. If we had been there for rest and relaxation, I would have enjoyed just sitting by the pond with a book. The Gong Suite was just fine - comfortable bed and couches. Jo-Ann was a great host and she left delicious muffins, cookies in the kitchen, and soda in the fridge. But - I had to mark it down a star for the kitchen amenities. It would be just fine if you expect to eat out (or bring in take out) each night but even though the promotion says "basic kitchen" I had expected that there would be room for food preparation and sufficient dishes (a pot, large bowl, etc) to use the BBQ side-burner, breakfast grill or even the toaster oven). BUT - for those who don't need/want to cook much - it really is a magnificent location and very comfortable.

Loved the pond!

The highlight of this property is for sure the pond. I booked in a rush and didn't realize what we had access to. Our kids (ages 8 and 10) spent over 5 hours playing at the pond that day. There are so many different water vessels and the pond is small enough that I was confident I could "rescue" them if necessary. For the adults, it was lovely to sit in the sun and just enjoy the lush surroundings. The long strip of sandy beach is a nice touch. It was a great place to unwind, so we spent a lot less time sightseeing and more time just relaxing in the woods here. We will be back!

Excellent couple retreat

Wonderful hosts and the privacy and peace we were looking for without having to venture far from the city. The room is even more spacious than it appears on the website, and the vista from the room is stunning. Highly recommend :)

Perfect setting!

This is a very peaceful setting, just a short drive from Victoria. Nestled in a forested area, there are walking paths, a delightful pond and ample opportunities to just sit and enjoy the quiet. Jo-Ann was a great host and provided “extra” thoughtfulness to make our stay even better. We will definitely make a point to return!

best home from home in the most beautiful nature

The place of Jo-Ann & Rob is truly a home from home! The property is nice and spacious, in the pure nature & We loved staying here with our two kids (9y and 7y). The entire place is full of charme, piece & easiness in a peaceful area of Metchosin (but also very, very close to all needed shops!). The outland has beautiful garden areas with lovely seating accomodations, bbq, fire pit, swimming pond! We loved your 3 very cute dogs Sasha, Mick & Leo! Overall we loved the familiar atmosphere! The apartment itself is very spacious & clean! We loved everything from equipment to furniture and decorations! Everyone was made with heart & soul! Jo-Ann & Rob are really interested that you feel comfortable and happy and they are always around if you have questions!In the end we can say that we couldn't think of any better place to stay! Spacious hideaway!

This property is a neat gem, situated a 15 minute drive from Goldstream Park in a quiet rural location. Great hosts, willing to accomodate our rescue dog and our funky schedule over the weekend. The bed was really comfy and we had everything we needed and more. This accomodation is well outfitted with all you could wish for. Thank you Jo-Ann & Rob for the comfy stay!

Paradise!

My husband, 15 month old daughter and sister travelled to the island for a Wedding and we were truly blown away by this GEM! We were so grateful for every little thing this property offered including and not limited to the **Wonderful Hosts, cleanliness, design of the suite, fruit, snacks and beverages, stocked kitchen with all the gadgets, comfy beds and beautiful linens, gorgeous views, an incredible private beach, walking trail, a hot tub... the list goes on! Perfect for a couples getaway or family vacation! We'll definately be referring all our family and friends to the Hidden Pond!

Magical place in the rainforest

This astonishing house sits in a huge property in the middle of the rain forest that includes its own pond and trails. Beautifully landscaped, the owners have taken care of every little detail around the house. We spent the entire fall and part of the winter at the Gong suite. The main room looks more like a presidential suite than a bedroom, and the massive windows overlooking the canopy forest are just unreal. Very nice porch and fire pit area below as well.Although too cold to swim in the pond, taking daily strolls around it and the trails was amazing and super peaceful. Our dog has never been happier, he enjoyed his private trails very much. He also became best friends with their 3 dogs, Mick, Leo and Sasha and now he misses them very much! The apartment is very comfortable, we loved spending days in it looking at the rain. The furniture has an elegant style that makes it very unique. The king bed is super comfortable, great rest on it. The kitchen area is separated in a different room and is also very spacious.Everything is neat and clean, Katy does a superb job. We had the apartment cleaned every week and access to the laundry also once a week. There is so much space that you hardly see the other guests and the privacy level is very high.Overall impressive real state that we were extremely lucky to share with Rob and Jo-Ann who are also part of making this experience so incredible, really beautiful people with great hearts. I understand now the exceptional reviews..

Amazing and restful stay

Suite was even better than described. The grounds were so beautiful - lots of space to spread out and congregate outdoors. There is another suite onsite in addition to the owners’ house but you can be in separate areas if you want privacy. The flowers were beautiful down by the pond and we saw lots of wildlife. The pond and grounds were so relaxing, I wish we could have stayed longer. We would absolutely love to come back and stay longer next time.

Own private beach and swimming area

It was a wonderful place to be. It was quiet and peaceful.we made use of everything we could while we were there. Fires, hot tub and the pond were all out favourite.the host is very friendly and rob will not hesitate to help you find some things to do while you are there! We had numerous great recommendations that ended up replacing our original plans and we did not end up disappointed!

Hidden Pond is a Hidden Gem. Warm, welcoming and helpful hosts. Exquisite, well maintained ,beautiful property. Ferns, flowers and lily pads adorn the private pond. We spent many days enjoying the private grounds. A little piece of tranquil paradise, just 10 minutes from anything you may need. White glove clean suite has a lovely eclectic feel, right down to the "gong". We are planning our next stay already.. Thanks JoAnn and Rob for a fabulous holiday.

The Perfect Getaway

My young family and I enjoyed the perfect getaway at Hidden Pond. Only a 30-minute drive from Victoria and we arrived at the beautiful rural property. The Gong Suite was very spacious and had the most charming touches, such as whimsical art, luxurious linens, classic board games, and a coffee bar stocked with fresh fruit, muffins and cookies. During the day we enjoyed exploring the forested trails and trying out the row boats. The pond has an absolutely idyllic storybook atmosphere. In the evening we roasted wieners and marshmallows over the fire then snuggled in the king size bed for a family movie night. We wouldn’t even have known there were guests staying next door had we not been informed upon arrival. I would 100% recommend Hidden Pond!

Hi, we are Rob and Jo-Ann Kevala. We are both semi-retired now and enjoy life on this amazing 10 acre property. Never a shortage of gardening! We love dogs and have three of our own on the property. We welcome visitors with their own pets. Our goal in opening Hidden Pond was to share this amazing property with other amazing people and provide a luxury option for people who want to travel with their own pets.

Why they chose this property

Hidden Pond became a reality in 2020. As we began to develop our property and build trails through the forest we found an amazing spring-fed pond hidden in the woods. Alot of landscaping and a year of work we spent reclaiming this pond from the wild. Today it is the home of a private beach, pergola and where we spend our summer and winter months

What makes this property unique

Hidden Pond is a unique retreat. Often people come planning to visit Victoria and Metchosin, then find the pond and don't leave the property for their stay. Whether you choose to relax in the hot tub, sit on the beach, wander the forest trails on the property, play with your pet in the orchard or warm your toes at the firepit in the evenings you won't find a more relaxing getaway.
