We could not be more excited for our stay in this amazing mountain property! There were eight of us in town for a 50 mile race and the house met all our needs. The hot tub was a huge draw for us as a post race recovery. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and so were the bathrooms. The host was very responsive and communicated well before, during and after the reservation. Perfect home for a large group with easy access to downtown Leadville. We would definitely stay at the Das Berghaus house again.

Hi Gina,
Your kind words made our day! We can’t wait to have you stay with us again.
This home was a great location for our large family. We did several 14er, traveled to the sand dunes, some smaller hikes and visited several mountain towns. The hot tub was perfect to come home to after a long day. The kitchen was perfect for us to cook breakfast and some dinners. There was lots of space to spread out for our large family. Communication was through a third party not the owners directly. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

This is the worst rental we have ever had! Absolutely no maintenance on the home or grounds. Main bedroom toilet ran and did not flush for most of the stay without manual flushing. Requested maintenance three times but they were unable to fix it. My husband finally was able to do that. The refrigerator froze everything we had and they did not fix it. No trash pick up and we were there for three weeks. The basement smelled of mold and mildew. The stairs leading up to the front door were absolutely dangerous and in no way up to code. Truly unbelievable this home was acceptable by VRBO.

Hi Brooke,
We're truly sorry to hear about your experience, this is far from the standard we aim to provide. If the trash had been reported during your stay, we would have arranged for a pickup right away. We repaired the refrigerator the day after you reported the issue, and the toilet was fixed as well, we have not had any issues since. The stairs in front have also been repaired. We appreciate your understanding. .
We enjoyed this home. It was a great location for us, we were attending a Jeep event based out of Leadville. It is also close to the main amenities, like grocery, gas and auto parts store.
My only concern is the house was not handicap friendly. We had a friend who can’t use stairs very well due to medical conditions. The front entrance has an uneven, slippery rock steps to the front porch stairs. The garage was the second entry and entered into the basement. He stayed in the basement bedroom but had limited access to the main floor.
The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. There were plenty of games and comfortable beds. Overall a great stay unless someone can’t use stairs.
