Beautiful vacation home nestled in quiet neighborhood, features: four bedrooms (one king, two queens, two twin XLs, & two twins), 2 full bathrooms, classic cape style house with comfortable living room and fully functioning kitchen, air conditioning, washer and dryer on 1st floor, large 2nd floor deck with gas grill and more.

This beautiful rental is your home away from home located in Moody (Wells), ME and is a short walk (1 mile) to Moody or Footbridge beach and very close to other Wells & Ogunquit beaches, restaurants and shops.

Summer discounted full week rentals available (Saturday to Saturday) at 15% and partial rentals available (minimum 3-4 nights depending on season).

The house is family friendly with kids beach toys, beach chairs, and other toys as well as bikes available. Located on a quiet dead end street, you will appreciate the calm retreat after a busy day in town or on the beach.

Wonderful stay for a family vacation

This was a perfect place for a vacation with our kids and my parents. Very comfortable and plenty of room, the rooftop deck is great. Very quiet street and close to the beach and restaurants. Would stay again!

My family and I had a great stay at Kings Cottage! We loved the proximity to Wells/Ogunquit, the quiet street, the quick response time of the hosts and the recommendations for restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. We loved the air hockey table and kids beach toys and basketball hoop too! We encountered some small hiccups and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful. We would happily come back next summer! Thank you for a great stay!

We had a terrific time. The house was very comfortable and easily could accommodate up to 10 ppl as advertised. Great location and communication from the hosts was excellent - more importantly you could tell they wanted you to enjoy your stay... would rent again

Perfect stay

The property was cozy and comfortable. The location was very close to restaurants, stores, and Footbridge beach. The beds were very comfortable. The owners were very pkeasant and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and would definetly recommend it to others. Looking forward to returning.

House with the rooftop deck

Perfect house for a large family to stay. 4 bedrooms with enough beds for everyone to have their own. Very clean and had everything you could need on a vacation. Short drive to Footbridge beach, a little longer drive to Ogunquit beach. Overall, great place and great hosts. My family and I would stay here again..

Great street for families

There was so much about the King's home that was perfect for my family (3 adult children came with 3 grandchildren 8, 6 and 1) - my granddaughers loved riding the bikes which also had helmets if needed although we brought our own - the swings on the big front tree was a plus as was the basketball net - these are great perks when we have had enough at the beach - there were games for my grandaughers to play and the kitchen has a great island cart which is set up perfectly to make toast for all or in our case we used as a place to make sandwiches for the beach - the upstairs deck was a favorite for us when we all got together to have a night of grilling - The King's were very responsive for my questions at the start of the week (some were user error on my part ?)

Great but not exceptional

We rented the property for 5 days. Spoke with James and Lisa a few times to have more information about the property and area. They were patient and very kind. We really enjoyed our stay but we were disappointed when we realized the guests did not have access to the washing machine or drier, especially for a renting near the beach...Also, the kitchen was not fully equipped, a few essential kitchen tools were missing ( for ex: bbq tools for the bbq, big pans and bigger cutting boards, etc). We also had to rewashed a few glasses and pans before using them as they were not clean...

Hello Véronique, many thanks for your visit and we hope you enjoyed your stay. We had mentioned that you would not have access to the laundry but it must have slipped your mind. We however reflected on this need from the guest and installed a washer and dryer on the first floor that is specifically for guest use. We apologize for the state of the dishes as we try to make everything is in great shape but the turnaround is too quick to check every item so we depend on you, like any guest, to leave the dishes in great shape (we also found the bbq tools tucked away in a cupboard that you must have missed! ). Hope to see you in 2023!

Perfect location!

We had a great vacation in Wells and loved the house. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed (towels, beach towels, sheets, blankets, kitchen utensils/pots/pans, etc. AC units worked well and kept us cool during a hot week. It was great being so close to all of the towns we wanted to spend time in. Communication with the owners was great. Thank you!

Great Home base location

The Kings are a great host, any questions I had they answered right away. The location is perfect to access several beaches, stores and restaurants. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable in a nice quiet neighborhood. The amenities made it easy, we didn’t need anything. Great location in quiet neighborhood. If I were to buy a summer house in Maine, this would be it. Close to beach, restaurants and downtowns of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. Clean and very comfortable beds. Need to add window screens and blinds for more privacy and install better AC option for master bedroom.

We are actually (funny enough), The Kings! We live in Canada with our two children and we acquired the Kings Cottage in January 2021 and have spent many months/years renovating it and then living there off and on throughout the year. I, Lisa, grew up here in Wells and my whole family still lives in southern Maine, many of them actively working in the service industry over the summer season. This is one of the major reasons why we had been looking for a home in southern Maine for over two years before we managed to find this one. We are very happy to have you stay at our home here in Moody, Maine.

Why they chose this property

This property combines the proximity to the beach and easy accessibility to other sites and sounds within the area. We have spent several years renovating the entire house inside and out, with newly refinished floors, completely repainted interior, all new furniture including all new bed frames and mattresses, refinished gigantic 2nd floor outdoor patio with exterior access, a converted spare room as a 4th bedroom, new 2nd floor bath, and many other small cosmetic and functional upgrades. This quiet dead end street is a great place to spend your time when you are away from the beach and a perfect spot for families to enjoy.
