The Space:
As you park on the side of the home in the private driveway you’ll notice why our nickname for this home is simply, “Peach House.” You’ll also immediately appreciate the mature trees, the landscaping, and the sense of care to the outdoor living spaces. Enter through the front door using the private key-code provided to you at check-in, and you’ll walk into a warm, welcoming, comfortable space with attractive natural lighting streaming in through the large windows and skylights. This home has definitely been updated from its original mid-century modern roots.
The main living area is wide and open and bright; the kitchen is modern and fully functional, ready for your culinary creations with quality appliances, cabinetry, travertine-tile backsplash and granite countertops, along with an immense bay window with views of the greenery outside.
Three of the home’s four bedrooms are on the level slightly higher than the main. Two rooms feature queen comfort, and the third offers a twin/trundle combination, perfect for the kids. The Master bedroom features a private bath, and an immense window with views of the bluffs of Palmer Park to the north and King bed. The remaining two bedrooms on this level are serviced by a single bathroom, clean and inviting and ready for business. The beds are comfortable, the linens are hotel-quality, and the home itself is managed professionally with a sense of quality and care worthy of your five-star review. The lowest level of the home offers a fourth bedroom featuring a comfortable setup of matching twin beds.
There’s a full laundry down here for guest use, but really the highlight is the den & the ping-pong table. This is a great, separate space for entertaining. Back up the half-flight of stairs you’ll find the home’s sunroom addition with access to the inviting deck which features plenty of outdoor seating, a gas grill and an attractive trestle with Edison lighting — all of it perfect for an evening spent with friends and family under the stars & the clear Colorado sky. There’s plenty of space here for the kids to play in the yard, and the treehouse and basketball court will provide hours of fun.
This home presents immense opportunities to the visitor and guest, and seems to keep on giving, and as it's offered at a great price, it’s definitely the family-friendly short-term home you’ve been looking for. The Neighborhood:
Located in central Colorado Springs near to one of the city’s most memorable and oft-overlooked open space and nature parks (Palmer Park!), this neighborhood has a quiet, established and easy feeling to it. The homes were built in the mid-century, and there’s a classic, straight-forward appeal. The trees are big and mature, the streets are wide, the schools have playgrounds full of kids and access to some exceptional hiking, biking, and green spaces is within walking distance. Restaurants, cafes & shopping are all just around the corner and access to the Pikes Peak Region’s most notable attractions for visitors and guests is easy, quick and simple. Places like Garden of the Gods, Downtown Colorado Springs, the Broadmoor, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City and many more are all just 10 - 15 minutes away by car.
Palmer Park was deeded to the public by the city’s founder, and represents an appreciated investment protecting an area of pretty striking natural beauty. The hiking and biking trails are abundant in the park, as are the overlooks and the amazing views of the Front Range and Pikes Peak itself, looming at 14,110 feet, well above the city below. There are natural rock formations, hoodoos and spires, that give the area a unique and other-worldly appeal. This neighborhood might not be the first that most visitors look at when they plan a visit to Colorado Springs, but really they should — and their loss is your gain, with this true hidden-gem — absolute vacation rental goodness!

The house was rented for business. Checked in and to our surprise had a downstairs game area. The guys were able to relax and have fun after a hard day's work. The outside sun/lounge area was really nice too.

Hi there! We're delighted to hear that the house provided a pleasant surprise and a great place for relaxation and fun, especially for a business trip. It's wonderful that the game area and the outside sun/lounge area added to the experience. If you have more business trips in the future, we'd be happy to host your team again!
We had a very nice stay. The home is comfortable and in a good location. Great mountain view in the backyard. The basketball court and ping pong table were lots of fun! Centrally located so convenient drive to everything. The home just needs a little TLC. The backyard was mostly mulch instead of grass for our critter, and the “fence” needs replaced. Overall it fit our needs and we would stay here again.

We enjoyed the place. We had some unfortunate mishaps though. Three times we had to alert the emergency number. They were not very prompt and we had emergencies. Unfortunate.

Property was unlike the pictures and listing description
The pictures in the listing looked great, but were inaccurate. The house and property were old and pretty run down. The house was dirty and the dishwasher did not work and there was not enough silverware for our family to use. The house was improperly stocked. The location was not favorable for pretty much anything.

Dusty and musty
When we first arrived, we struggled with the lock pad & spent 10 minutes on the phone with the rental company trying multiple different codes before being able to get in.
Here’s what we encountered and was our experience throughout our stay:
High touch areas were very dirty and appeared stained, though when we wiped them down with sanitizing wipes, the wipes were completely dirty. Some examples: trim in the doorways, door handles, handrails, cupboard doors, thermostat, light switches, etc. The walls & stairways also appeared to have not been cleaned in a very long time.
There was a moth infestation. No, not a couple of months which would have been manageable. Multiple months flying in our faces in all rooms. Absolutely disgusting.
We noticed a bad smell coming from the master bedroom and realized that it was coming from the upstairs bathroom. The smell would come and go throughout our entire stay and was very unpleasant, like sewage.
The blinds in the bedrooms and bathrooms were very old, dirty and in poor shape with holes and tears in some of them. The set in the shared bathroom had no cord, so no way to keep them open to crack the window for air flow.
There is no ventilation in either bathroom & while you could crack the bathroom window in the master bath, the blinds in the other bathroom have no cord and do not stay up at all so in order to get any air flow, we had to prop the blinds up with a box of Kleenex.
This house needs a complete refresh & deep cleaning.

Lipstick on a pig
There is no venting in bathrooms, sewer odor. Mold in bathroom on shower curtain and ceiling. Mold on window sills. Washing machine drains on floor. Cannot regulate heat, registers will not close. Thermostat set at 67 and down stairs was 82 degrees. Toilets required plunging. Kitchen counter tops had food residue from previous renter. Purchased a can of Fabreeze to try to tame down stench. Opened up windows in bathrooms and kitchen. The home needs to be vented properly and needs a HRV system. Electrical system needs to be updated, faulty switches and outlets, observation made by journeyman electrician… the list could go on. Photographed problems since knew this might become topic for discussion.
The house accommodated our family of 6 very well. There were plenty of bedrooms and the younger kids enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement and basketball goal outside.
It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do.
Place was great but fair warning not to park across the house on the street My son came over and parked on the street across from the he house. We left and came back and the man immediately came out of his house screaming that we had to move the car. We had done nothing wrong I guess parking on a public street is a crime. He actually scared us. It would’ve been nice if we weren’t told we couldn’t use the driveway for some reason. Other than that the lace was great!
My son is stationed at Ft. Carson, and we came in to surprise him for his birthday. This house had everything we needed. The kitchen and backyard are huge, there is plenty of sleeping space with comfy beds, and the sunroom gives you the feeling of being outside without being open to the elements.
