This place is only 6 minutes from tippy damn. Like 5 minutes from High Bridge. Its in a great location. The cabin is a duplex, its very nice in side. They have everything you need there. All you have to do is bring your own food. The bed was comfortable. The wood walls makes it feel like your in a cabin. I will be staying here again.

The cabin is exactly as pictured. The entry step needs a second step. The front door doesnt seal and couch is awful even using pillows from the bed to sit and watch tv. The kitchen is equipped, beds are good. Only 2 towels. Price was great. Location perfect and nice to have more room and privacy than a hotel. Very clean and quiet. Responsiveness was really good starting the day before arrival.
Trails just NE of Wellston received 5" of snow night before arrival. All other areas had only a dusting of snow. Cabin was newly remodeled and clean. Could have used lamp near couch for reading. Only missing items in kitchen were spatula and colander. Noticed bottom legs of small wooden table needs some pads under legs to protect floor. Opened up folding leafs of table and slight movement left small marks on new LVT but can be readily detailed to make disappear. Appliances were new and beds were comfortable. Would recommend to friends. GPS directed us in back way. If not for 4 wheel drive would have gotten stuck in snow / ice for sure. Had to push others out who did same.
1 big white truck parked long ways in frount of our place
2 no address on street to find place
For sale sign in frount , first building looked abandoned
Had to call to find place
3outside furniture very very dirty
4bathroom very small
4 adults could not stay comfortable
5 wifi never worked even after calling manager
6only window air for 2 bedrooms
6 TV not size advertised was 24" to maybe 28"
7 Table chairs holes were tape up
8 microwave was on top high refrigerator I couldn't reach it
Inside was clean but not widows bug in them did not open
Would not recommend

Hi Rhoda, we want to make vacation rental easy for everyone, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-A neighboring guest mistakenly parked their truck in the wrong location when they went fishing, and promptly removed it upon their return
-We are working on replacing our street number sign that was damaged in a recent storm
-The local building that you encountered is still under construction and will remain unoccupied until it is completed
-Although we do our best to keep the outdoor area clean, if there are a few days between guest check-out and the next check-in, it is certainly possible for Mother Nature to have an effect on the outdoor area once our cleaning crew has left
-We've investigated the wifi and have not been able to replicate the issues you experienced
-With the moderate temperatures and the significant nightly temperature drop, we have found that a smaller air conditioning unit is able to keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature
-The television screen measures 32"
-Tape, among other methods, was used to repair a damaged chair until we could find a replacement
-We use professional photographers so we can be sure that our images accurately reflect each property and guests can decide before booking if the layout meets their expectations
Thanks for your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!
Everything was fine until someone walked into our unit and came to the bedroom door at 7:30 am and accused us of breaking into the unit to stay. After telling him that indeed we did pay, he went outside and sat in his truck. We proceeded to gather up our belongings and leave, as we did not know if this person was coming back into the unit. I called the manager on duty and advised him of what had occurred. He stated that VRBO had not notified him that the unit was booked and he booked it as well. In the future I would hope that they would update the lockbox to a digital code and install deadbolt locks on the exterior doors. I’ve sent an email to VRBO and am hoping that some sort of credit will be issued. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future.

Needs work
So we stayed here last fall and it was wonderful. Had several issues that were resolved but still had troubles. The code for the door that we got initially were wrong. Several phone calls and waiting 30 minutes, just long enough to start calling around to see what else might be available since we couldn’t get in. Finally got a call back. Then info on the wifi was incorrect, another phone call that didn’t get returned until the next day, but we were chatting with the neighbor who had the router in his unit and got that fixed.
To cap it off the hot water went out, but the property manager had it fixed within an few hours so that was nice.
The last thing I would say is they need a sign for the place or an address number at the very least, Google does NOT know how to find this place and it will send you down a random dirt road. It’s across the street from another little hotel.
Overall it’s a great place to stay. And with a little bit of work in communication from the property management company it will be even better. But please pick a name for the place and get a sign!

Brian, From us here at Evolve, we sincerely apologize for providing incorrect information about your stay. We have updated all information in our system for the owner, to ensure an easy check-in for their next guests. Our mission is to make vacation rental easier for everyone and we're sorry that we missed the mark this time. We take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:
Owner's response: "Brian, we apologize for the occurrences but are happy that we were able to assist with the code and you got in okay. We're glad you decided to come back and stay at our property and we hope to see you again soon. We have worked with Evolve and fixed the information that was incorrect so that this does not occur again.
We're glad you were able to get the wifi taken care of, all that information is provided in the Welcome Book, we keep this updated so that our guests have answers to questions at their fingertips.
Thank you for your patience with the hot water, we're glad we were able to get it fixed so quickly.
We have ordered a sign for the property, these days it does take a little longer because of materials and labor but we are hoping it will get here soon. We are also looking into other options of providing a map so Google won't lead you astray.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to strive for those 5-star experiences we know we can."
Overall the place was pretty nice. Unit 2 shower was painted, not the cleanest of showers because of it. Overall the room reflects the price. Was a nice place to stay for the week at affordable rate.
We really enjoyed our stay! Great clean cabin in the manistee national forest! So many things to do right there we all really enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait to come back!

Gaining access to cabin!
Upon arrival I was not able to enter cabin. Man in next cabin told me he received code to key box a few days after making payment. I booked this cabin and paid in full in August. Never received code ! Took 2 1/2 hrs to get code. Had to text Vrbo! Not a good method of communication. !’ No phone number available. ! It was cold and raining had to sit in my car til 5 when I finally received code’. Also we were all ladies in our 60’s and the porch was high with no step up ! Very disappointing stay.
The place is nicely updated, but still need some little TLC. There is no place to prep food/dine. Like a large kitchen island going off the wall would be a great solution, or at least large firm table. That was probably the only inconvenience. The owner was very responsive. Overall we had a very good time.
Rented this property for a buddy and myself to stay while we were visiting the area to do some salmon fishing. It had everything we needed. The place was clean and inviting. Would definitely stay again!
We had a one night stay over and this was the perfect place. Everything was clean and had everything we needed.

Would stay again!
We use VRBO and Air BNB a lot. When we arrived, the cabin had not been cleaned and we though “oh no! Here goes” much to our surprise, after notifying the contact we were given, someone came within 10 minutes! She was super nice and took care of it quickly!! The rest of our stay was great! We would stay again!
When we arrived, our cabin had not been cleaned. I reached out to the contact person and the cleaner was there in 10 minutes to clean and was very apologetic! Good location! I have a son in Manistee and a Brother in Irons! The doors need a little work but I would definitely stay again!
I struggle finding the place because my GPS gave me the dirt road behind the cabins this was not right I drove around in a circle trying to find this place other than it might stay I had a wonderful time I like the cabin very much very much inviting comfortable bedding easy to find everything easy hook up for my internet on my phone we ate out most of the time lots to do in the cities around where we stayed. The cabin was clean well put together I wasn't too excited about the big spider hanging out in the bathroom sink when I entered in to use the bathroom that was a scare he was a big wolf spider never seen anything so big. All in all I think I'll come back it was a very comfortable stay.
Perfect little place stay between adventures. Clean and everything you need (including an outside dining table and chairs, a fire and even an outdoor fish cleaning station. So much to do in the area. Surrounded by woods and very picturesque area. Only recommendation we can make is to post the address on the road. Nowhere does it show where to turn in and GPS takes you up a very secluded dirt road to try to bring you through the back of the property. We were on high alert looking for Sasquatch while trying to find the place at 11pm. Point of contact was great. Responded in less than 5 minutes when we called to say we couldn't find the place
While the cabin is nice and there is nothing majorly wrong with it, there were a few things that hindered our stay. The main door does not seal all the way around leaving gaps for bugs to get in and making you not feel quite as secure as you should. The wifi information that was left in the binder did not work, the network name did not exist. While we weren't there to sit around and use the internet, having wifi as advertised would have been nice since our cell service was minimal and didn't work at times. The cabin was pretty clean, except under the bed. As we made sure we had all of our belongings, I looked under the bed to find many dust bunnies and a condom wrapper (it wasn't from us). Thankfully I looked under the bed and not my children, as they probably would have grabbed it to throw it away. We didn't find the beds to be very comfortable either. It's a cute cabin, but just not one that fits our family's needs.
