We really enjoyed our stay at Alpine Lake. The house was nice and we appreciated that there were board/card games for the kids and pickleball sets. We would stay here again!

Shared from the owner: "Hi, Jason! I’m so glad that you and the kids enjoyed yourselves at the Eagle’s Nest. Alpine Lake even offers pickleball clinics in the summer that are wonderful, and I highly recommend if you get the chance. You were great house guests and we would love to have you back anytime!"
Love the Alpine Resort area. First time to rent a cabin. Very nice & super clean.

This was our second year staying at this property. The property was very clean and as advertised. The cabin is located in a quiet section of the resort with almost no noise. The cabin is well appointed, and the host is excellent to work with.
We had such a great time at the house! It was so clean and well stocked for a cozy cabin weekend. The host was so considerate and was very easy to reach. Thanks for a great time!

Not long enough
We had a great stay at The Eagles Nest. We only wish we could have stayed longer. The home is beautiful and well equipped. We will definitely stay again if we return to the area.
We have been going for 4 years to Terra Alta WV for snow and beautiful view in winter. The house is perfect for two families. Cozy evening near fireplace.

Resort area in general is very quiet and peaceful. All the places are nice. The house was perfect for our family of 4. The beach was small but nice. We went white water rafting which was a half hour away. Would stay here again!
Location is beautiful. And the place was nice and clean. We loved it

AWESOME
If you don't rent this cabin while visiting Alpine Lakes in Terra Alta WV YOU ARE MISSING OUT!! I Highly Recommend it!! No place like it!! You will not be disappointed!!
The Eagle's Nest was a beautiful and welcoming respite from city traffic and woes. The spot was peaceful and we really appreciated the surrounding nature. The young ladies especially enjoyed the surprised visit by "Boo-Boo" the baby bear :) Emma Mobley was a fantastic hostess and her place was amply supplied with everything we needed. I felt crazy lugging all of my own cookware, as she had EVERYTHING I needed to indulge in one of my passions...cooking scrumptious meals for family and friends. I hope to stay there again in the near future.

From the owner: "Hi Terry! Thank you for being such a nice house guest. I’m glad you found everything you needed in the house and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Boo-Boo the bear is adorable on camera but keeps trying to destroy our rubbish bin with his middle-of-the-night cravings…he’s a hungry boy…LOL. Come back and stay anytime and feel free to leave that cookware at home, okay?"

Another Great Weekend
I have written reviews in the past about the Eagles Nest, and I can’t say enough about this cabin.. Let me start off by saying how spotless the place is, the owner takes great pride in her property it is always very clean and tidy, she has done some upgrades to the property, new driveway new sign coming up the driveway and very nicely decorated. Owner makes you fill at home, she has everything provided for you. Every time I go to Alpine Lake I will only rent the Eagles Nest! This past Labor Day weekend (2025) was my 4th or 5th time renting this cabin. So if you are looking for a nice, clean, comfortable, cozy and peaceful place to stay in the Terra Aleta area look no further than the Eagles Nest this cabin will not Disappoint!!! LisaFrom Pittsburgh PS If your a golfer the Alpine Lake golf course is great!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
You will not find a better place to stay than The Eagles Nest! The house and the owner are one of the BEST!!! This house is perfect for a get away weekend or a family getaway vacation. Emma has made her place very comfortable and it's Super clean! She takes pride in her place and it shows. I will only stay at The Eagles Nest!! And she is great to work with always makes herself Accessible to you all you have to do is call or text her and she It's back to you very quickly.. But I assure you there will be no need to contact her. Because everything at her place is at your fingertips. This house is BEAUTIFUL!!! and in a great location you can't go wrong!!!
The property is even nicer than the pictures on the listing. We had three adult couples, a single adult, and a child. There are three separate living/sleeping spaces. The upstairs room has its own bathroom. The down stairs room is huge with its own tv and bathroom. The house truly sleeps ten with four queen/king beds and two twin beds down stairs.
Everything was very clean. It was a nice touch to have all of the light switches labeled. The deck is very nice. If the weather was cooperative we would have spent a lot of time out there.
The alpine lakes community is safe, and very nice with good amenities. It is convenient to be able to order Togo from the resort restaurant.
Everything was perfect. More house than I needed but not a problem. House would easily accommodate ten people as advertised. Very quiet and peaceful. I started every morning with a cup of coffee on the deck about 5:45AM and each morning saw a bear. The first morning a large bear just crossing the road at the end of the driveway and the second and third morning a smaller bear that knew the neighbors trash bin was not bear proof. Very enjoyable to watch. The steps leading up to the main quarters could be a problem for older or handicapped individuals and the driveway could be a problem in winter. I would certainly rent it again if the opportunity presented itself. Everything you need is in the home.

From the owner: "Jim, thank you for leaving such a nice review! It was a pleasure having you as a guest. I appreciate your great communication and that you left the place in excellent condition. I love that you got to see the bears! We'd love to have you come back and stay again."
At Eagle's Nest, my husband, son and I felt as comfortable as if we were in our own home! The chalet is modern, lots of light, furnished with top-of-the-line furniture, as well as beautiful antiques, and wrapped in a relaxing deck and chairs. There was a welcome gift on the kitchen table, and the kitchen, living area and bathrooms had everything we needed to get us started on our stay. (Even Kleenex, spices, and enough plastic refrigerator tubs to keep our leftovers viable!) We spent most of the days exploring Alpine Lake by kayak, hiking around it, or swimming at the little beach, while enjoying all the wildlife. And when we came back, we settled into lazy-boy style armchairs and enjoyed the big-screen TV. Beds were clean and very, very comfortable. My son took over the balcony room upstairs with his own bath. There was plenty enough room for many more people. We didn't even need the downstairs room. Best of all....no crowds at Alpine Lake. Lucky to pass anyone on the well-cared-for walking trails and only a few boats (no motors) on the lake. Even the small beach had only a dozen or so people enjoying the sun and refreshing waters. We'll go again!
