Great snowy getaway

Our family spent a week here for new year’s week. The place was just what we needed. Plenty of room for our teenager and young adult kids to spread out. The location was secluded and it snowed a ton while we were there making for beautiful scenery. Our pup loved the walks in the snow too! The hosts were super receptive and all the complaints in previous reviews were not observed or were resolved. We had 2 days of great skiing and 2 trips to Shorts! Highly recommend for your ski or golf holiday.

Winter break long weekend

The house is very nice in a lovely location on the grounds of Shanty Creek, and it was the right size for our family group. The kitchen was well-appointed and well laid out, which was great, since we cooked all of our meals. We needed a snow shovel, though, and there wasn't one there, nor was there any salt or sand to put on the walkway or steps leading into the house. We'd definitely consider renting this home again.

VRBO stay in Shanty Creek

The House was large and accommodated us well. We enjoyed the patio deck and backyard as well looking at No. 3 hole on The Schuss Golf course. The Hot water was spotty at times but OK. The AC was more than adequate. I suggest fixing the Internet as it was in and out the entire stay. Also, the door handle on the screen door needs adjusting from the inside. Also, the instructions on the Evolve / VRBO given to get in the house was wrong. You did NOT need a Key from the Lock Box next to the door. The code which changed 3 times was correct, but all we needed to do was use the code on the Front Door Lock, NOT the lock box. Not sure why this was not known and passed along to me. A neighbor had to called to get in the house. I suggest asking the owner to add an inexpensive broom and dust pan in the kitchen. Thank you,Robert Colby

Beautiful home but has issues

What should have been a wonderful stay in a beautiful home, ended up with too many issues. Quickly discovered amenities that were listed, were nonexistent. When the host was informed there were no hair dryers, wash cloths, limited kitchen towels we were told the last renters were an issue. The problem became our issue because replacements were never delivered. With cooler weather we did not need to run the air conditioner. This quickly became a problem because the basement developed a very strong smell. To the point my son and his family left early to avoid sleeping in the basement. Our 5 bedroom rental became a 3 bedroom rental. As requested we removed used sheets at our departure. To find beds with no mattress pads and yellow, stained pillows was further disappointing. This property was not the standard we’ve come to expect with a VRBO rental.

We have never encountered this before, but we are looking into it to ensure our guests' comfort.- Regarding the towels and dishcloths, we sincerely regret any inconvenience. We thought we had adequately stocked them and have since replaced the dishcloths and hairdryer.- All beds were made with mattress pads, and the pillows are relatively new. We're sorry if this did not meet your expectations.We appreciate your feedback and are committed to improving the guest experience.

Jill was very good with communication and a pleasure to work with. We all enjoyed the special touches that she had ready for us when we showed up. Would stay here again!
