About this property
Farmhouse Cottage Sleeps 2 (1 en-suite Bedroom)
Formerly part of the farmhouse, this cottage was previously a farm worker's dwelling in the 18th century. It has been sympathetically converted back into a separate cottage and has the benefit of an oak beamed ceiling and an open fireplace. The living area has a 40" television, a settee and an electric reclining chair and a quality carpet. A dining table and chairs completes the living space. The cottage is warm and cosy with central heating. The large bedroom has a lovely view over farm land towards Bosley Cloud (hill) which is the local landmark. The bed can be either a luxurious queen-sized bed or alternatively converted into twin single beds. An inbuilt wardrobe, oak drawers, oak bedside cabinets and period dressing table completes the room. Quality bedding and towels are provided. The bathroom has a large shower, wc, wash basin and heated towel rail. A velux window creates a light and airy bathroom. The cottage is set on a working sheep and beef farm surrounded by farm land, streams and the River Dane. Guests are welcome to walk around the farmland, paddle in the streams, have picnics and fish in the river - as well as enjoying lambs, calves and wildlife in the farm fields. The Cottages are conveniently located on the A54 Congleton to Buxton road and are only 15 minutes drive away from the pretty market towns of Macclesfield, Congleton and Leek and the spa town of Buxton. The cottage is located on the borders of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire and is therefore conveniently located to visit the delights of all three counties. It is also conveniently positioned for visits to the Roman City of Chester with its zoo and race course, and vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Beautiful countryside and scenery is all around and for the walker, then Bosley Cloud, Macclesfield Forest, Teggs Nose, the Roaches and Hanging Stone are a must. Sailing, fishing, golfing, horse riding, mountain biking & cycling are all nearby as are a wealth of National Trust properties, historic houses and fabulous gardens. Jodrell Bank with its Lovell telescope and arbortoreum is close by and the Alton Towers theme park is also within easy reach. The Peak District with it's lovely villages, scenery and historic houses is also close by. Buxton with its glorious architecture, pavilion gardens and Opera House is a 'must see' as is the grand Chatsworth House known as the 'Queen of the Peaks' is approximately one hours drive away which is an absolute 'must see' as the 'Queen of the Peaks'. There is so much to see and do in this area - to meet everyone's interests and expectations. Our aim is for you to have a wonderful stay.
