Mike was super responsive, kind and accommodating, easy to communicate with..The garden is large, beautiful and well kept. The property was super clean. It’s in a very quiet hamlet but only 10 minutes from Perigueux, with shops, restaurants etcWe highly recommend this host and property!
Loved the location and the cottage has all you need if you decide to go self catering. Beds comfortable and there is off road parking. Mike, the owner / host is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again should we decide to visit the Dordogne. The cottage is well placed. for visiting many of the Dordogne's main tourist destinations as well as places off the beaten track.
Lovely quiet stay with everything a Brit abroad needs
We spend four quiet nights here as we road-tripped through France and Spain. Mike was helpful and friendly from the moment we booked, providing fans when the temperature climbed, and the chickens and dog made the place feel homely. As we were here during the Olympics it was great to watch the BBC coverage!
We were bothered by midges so don’t forget your bug spray!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage near Vergt. The kitchen is well equipped and the garden is lovely and is securely fenced, which was perfect for our dog. It is in a quiet location and within easy reach of a good supermarket and other facilities. Mike and his father Roger were good hosts and were available to answer any queries. As this was our first experience of this region we would definitely consider returning.
Quietly situated well equipped gite enjoying a large private garden
A delightful single storey gite hosted by Mike with father Roger closeby offering helpful advice. We shared the large garden with a French cockerel (Monsieur Macron) and his ageing companions (Brigitte and Monsieur Mitterand). Vergt affords a decent supermarket, hotel, and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and it provided a well situated base for trips throughout Dordogne.
Review from experienced VRBO travellers: Good location and facilities for our short stay. Supermarket and petrol station nearby (Vergt). General cleanliness OK but could be better and kitchen area could do with a deep clean as it is apparent that this has not been done for a while. Many crevices and cracks (which could be cured with some generous use of sealant) enabled an infestation of ants to hide out and regularly plague the kitchen area. Internet OK but uses old technology and needs updating.

Many thanks for your 4 star review!!!
The cracks and crevices will be fixed but the next guest has not complained about ants. As I live next door it is it easy to tell me about problems while you are here and I will fix straight away .
Hote, Mike hyper gentil
On recommande +++Merci Mike

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It was just the right size for the 2 of us. We liked the kitchen/dining/sitting area. There is also a good outdoor seating area and large garden. Everything was spotless and we had sufficient kitchen equipment for self catering. The rural location was very peaceful, although the road to the nearest village (Vergt) was a bit tortuous. We enjoyed a lovely meal there in Le Mouton Noir. The gite is close to Perigueux and a little further to Bergerac, so very handy as a sightseeing base. We particularly enjoyed seeing Joey the dog and the chickens every day. Mike never intruded but we knew he was on hand if we needed him. We actually wished we’d booked the house for longer than 6 nights.
