This was our second time staying here obviously we loved it. We have 2 dogs and they really enjoyed the enclosed paddock we couldnt keep them in the house. The Farmhouse felt like home. from home
A wonderful stay- would highly recommend!Couldn't have asked for more. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable- genuinely above and beyond. The property is beautifully quiet and peaceful, with lovely surroundings that make it easy to completely switch off. Had some really nice walks with our dog. Michael even let me hold a lamb:)We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back
What a great experience! Lovely home right in the countryside but a 10 min walk to a very cozy pub. Loved this place. Great location within county Donegal as well. Can get anywhere in the county in about 90 min or less. Very safe, very quiet. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
A beautiful, cozy cottage in a peaceful location provides a great base for exploring the surrounding area.
The owners provided excellent local knowledge and recommendations which helped enhance our holiday.
Clean and welcoming this cottage was well equipped for my family with a young child. I would recommend this property highly.
Lovely warm old farm house with all accommations needed. Quiet location. Owners were on the spot to assist us with our stay. Met a few of the farm denizens (sheep and horses).
Lovely little cottage. Well-equipped with thoughtful touches. Perfect for a get-away in beautiful natural surroundings. Weather was wild but that added to the experience.
Excellent accommodation, quiet, off the beaten track setting , yet very central to all main attractions in area. Michael and Bridget made us very welcome and were very friendly and helpful in getting to know the local area. Would be very happy to use their lovely holiday home again . Raymond and Judith
We spent two nights and enjoyed the peaceful location. Michael met us on arrival and walked us through the house. We found the place very clean and as described in the
listing. The kitchen was well stocked and helped us prepare quick meals. werecomfortable.
I cannot imagine a more perfect experience than Michael and Bridget’s beautiful farmhouse! They were both spectacular hosts. The house was cozy, clean, and comfortable … and just a quick walk to the Glenveigh Inn for a pint. O nice for them to have set us up with some coffee, tea, and milk. The region is spectacularly beautiful. Highly recommend.
Good accommodation for exploring the north of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Cozy little house, clean and equipped with everything you need for a few days. Good communication with the hosts. I will book it again in case I will visit the area once more.
Staying in this home was exactly what we needed. We were looking to explore Donegal and this centrally located farmhouse was right in the middle of it. We were within an hour or so of most of the destinations we wanted to get to.We were interested in hiking in the Glenveagh national park and our host gave us an encyclopedia of information about the area and different places to go and visit, as well as how to get there from a local perspective. He definitely went above and beyond!Communication was easy and seamless. Check-in was exactly as expected. It was a cozy house and a lovely stay.
My neice and I only have wonderful things to say of the house and hosts. We felt so welcome and comfortable during our stay. It was truly home away from home. Michael made us a bog fire each night in both fireplaces. We were so appreciative. He is full of knowledge about the region from sites to see, to restaurants, to pubs, etc. We highly recommend this gem of a place nestled in such beautiful and enchanting surroundings.
We stayed just over a week at Michael and Bridget’s countryside cottage in Termon and it was perfect. Warm. Comfortable. Peaceful. It was wonderful for our large family and had everything we could possibly need with small kids and big kids too. It was set off the road but still close enough to get to all the beautiful beaches and towns by car in minutes. Letterkenny was a quick 15-20 mins drive depending on time of day. Affordable and lovely, the hosts made us feel super welcomed and even let my son feed a new lamb with a bottle - so sweet. Can’t recommend this spot enough and we would definitely go back!
A wonderful secluded cottage perfect for a romantic get away. The cottage retains olde world charm but with all the conveniences of modern day living. There are so many thoughtful finishing touches that add to the overall uniqueness and tranquility of the cottage. The kitchen is equipped with every conceivable utensil you could wish for. Provision of bread, milk, butter, cream, biscuits and coffee were very much appreciated. The entire cottage was spotlessly clean and the turf stove created a lovely ambience. Bridget and Michael were perfect hosts. We would definitely love to return!! Many thanks for allowing us the privilege to experience your Donegal 5 star haven. Sincere thanks J
If you want a quiet get away with your dog/s this is the place. The house is a gorgeous old farm house with all mod cons. Beds very comfy. Towels, iron, hairdryer washing machine all provided. Amazing views of the Donegal Hills. Surrounded with nature. The owners had the heating on for us arriving which was lovely. Our dogs loved the enclosed paddock. The local pub is about 10min walk and the bar/restaurant The Lagoon bar is about a 10min drive the food is amazing. Letterkenny town is roughly a 20minute drive alot of good shopping spots with loads of eating places Marble hill beach is 20/30minute drive and it is outstanding with a cafe situated on the road.
We would certainly go back. However it's not a place to go if you don't want to drive to places but there is alot to do in the surrounding areas. The owners are lovely people with good advice on where to go. They live next door on their working sheep farm but left us alone to enjoy their farm house but we're on hand if we needed them. Highly recommend this place for quiet get away.
Highlight of Ireland for us! Absolute tranquility.
Bridget and Michael were the perfect hosts telling us all about locals sights and hidden treasures to explore. Michael allowed us to bottle feed a baby lamb and told us all about the herding dogs and cattle!
The farm house is so comfy cozy (fireplaces, throws, huge kitchen and living room, candles and soaps) and tastefully decorated with paintings, pottery and throws from the local area and far off places like Bulgaria and France.
My sister, the chef, giggled with pleasure as she reported to me that the kitchen was very well equipped and met her high standards. This was important as we were staying for 5 days and planned to prepare our own meals since we were tired of eating out.
The sound of the sheep and birds and the fragrant air lulled us to sleep every night. So peaceful.
The house is very roomy and can easily accommodate a group of 6. Loads of storage too!
The house is centrally located to several points of interest and is a quick 10 minute drive to wonderful unspoiled coves and beaches.
I highly recommend this property. Absolute gem. A 10/10.
5/5!
Such a wonderful stay. Bridget was super flexible with check in and check out which is a breath of fresh air and was so helpful it fitting around our plans.
The check in process was a dream. We arrived at the property with the door unlocked (Bridget and Michael live close by but the cottage is super private, you wouldn’t know) and the already stove already lit!
The views from the front of the house was stunning, and lovely to sit out if you get the weather for it.
The cottage had everything we needed - plenty of wood and turf for the two fires (one log burner, and one open fire) Michael popped round shortly after check in and shared lots of useful info on local amenities, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, aswell as letting us know where to find more wood/turf and how to use the heating.
The bread, milk and snacks were a lovely touch. Location was fantastic - a short drive to Ards Forest and also to Mulroy Bay where we kayaked with Awaken Adventures. There’s a pub walking distance from the cottage but we made the short trip into Kilmacrennan to Nora’s bar which was brilliant - they also do free drop offs home at the end of the night.
Thank you Bridget and Michael for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back!
