Adorable one bedroom cottage in a great location! Walk to the Beach - several times a day if you want to! Clean, bright, and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen for eating in. Brand new Caspar memory foam mattress. The cottage is surrounded by unique and creative gardens and has a deck landscaped for privacy with flowering shrubs and perennial beds. A perfect place to relax and cook out. Cottage is located on a quiet side street only a short walk to Newport's Easton's Beach (a.k.a. First Beach). First Beach has public facilities, a carousel, playground and twice weekly evening entertainment. It is a great area for walking, running, biking, surfing and kayaking. All equipment available to rent nearby. Restaurants, coffee shop, brew pub are within walking distance and downtown Newport is only 1.5 miles away.
This location is best for those looking for a quiet vacation spot close to but away from the hustle and bustle of Newport. Please no parties or late night noise. House rule: No voices or music loud enough to be heard outside after 10 PM.

About the host

Hosted by Paul & Trish Onofrio

We bought this property in 1997. It was very rundown. We lived on the property and did most of the renovations and landscaping ourselves with lots of help from friends and family. We now live in the next town but continue to be very 'hands-on'. We oversee the weekly turnovers to be sure the cottages are clean and well maintained. We are easily reached to solve any problems or answer questions for our guests.

Why they chose this property

Trisha grew up in the Newport area and Paul grew up near the coast in Madison, Connecticut. Shortly after getting married, we were thrilled to find a 'fixer-upper' so close to the ocean. We take great pride in having created a unique vacation spot for so many of our returning renters and look forward to meeting new renters every year.

What makes this property unique

Paul's gardens are what all our renters comment on and make our place special. When you walk through the gate, behind the hedge, the landscaping will charm you. Seashell paths, arbors, roses, hydrangeas, daisies, blueberry bushes and strawberries, covered decks, butterflies, birds and more create a serene and unforgettable place to relax and unwind.
