OUR STERILIZATION PROCESS: Everyone is concerned about Covid-19, we are too. That's why we are going above and beyond to keep our guests safe. Here is what we are doing:

1. Any cleaner that has any symptoms of cold or flu will not be doing cleans.
2. When arriving at the property our cleaners are washing their hands thoroughly before they begin.
3. All touchable surfaces including door knobs, handles, remotes, counters, light switches etc. are all thoroughly sterilized.
4. As is the norm, all sheets, towels, pillows etc are washed with bleach.
5. We use an Ozone Air Purifier to sterilize all other surfaces (floors, furniture, throw pillows etc)

You can have the peace of mind that you are walking into a completely sterilized space.

This apartment is the basement of a house. Here are the pros and cons of our experience:Pros: clean, good location, good communication with host, comfortable bed, ample street parking.Cons: apartment is in the basement of an older house. There was a younger couple staying in the house (not the owners who said they were out of town). In the evenings, we could hear the thump of every step above our heads. The floor joists squeaked loudly and constantly above our heads. We could clearly hear the tv and music they played. When they showered late at night, the water traveled through pipes in the closet of the main bedroom and sounded like a waterfall. It was extremely loud. While the apartment listing says that the owner installed soundproofing, in our experience, this apartment is very loud when people in the house above are there. The apartment was not a good fit for us based on the noise and we would not stay there again.

It is true that some sounds are heard from the tenants upstairs which is why we explained in our listing description that although we installed soundproofing in the ceiling, it is a 1926 Portland bungalow so you’re going to hear more sounds than you would in a modern building. Other guests do acknowledge hearing sounds, but not as you describe. We understand that some guests are more sound sensitive than others so we apologize and thank you for staying with us.
