Historic Listed Cottage In Beaulieu/ Wifi/ Wood Burning Stove/ Parking
This is a beautifully refurbished 17th Century cottage in the heart of Beaulieu (not far from the river) which is an ideal base from which to relax and enjoy New Forest life. Situated on a quiet road, you can walk to Monty's Inn nearby for dinner and visit the popular cafe opposite for breakfast. You may see donkeys and cows walking along the High Street!
For the adventurous, bikes and canoes can be hired nearby at New Forest Activities.
You will enter the property via the external door which leads down a covered brick walkway to the access door on your left (a little quirky but it's part of the house!). Once inside you are in a small hallway with the stairs to the first floor. You turn right and descend two steps into the large rear dining area with its vaulted ceiling and which has views over the rear patio and garden. This room has lots of light due to the 4 metre wide patio doors and it has the advantage of being attached to the kitchen (you walk up two steps to reach it) so it is great open plan space plus having a large dining table.
The kitchen has a cooker, integrated microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher. There is also a Nespresso machine for your morning expresso or latte.
Directly off the dining room there is also the door to the large lounge (up another two steps) which has two settees a wood burning stove for cosy night in. There are also HD TV (enjoy free Netflix to watch your favourite films ) or use the DVD player.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one large, one small plus the separate bathroom (with a bath and shower). The large bedroom has one king size bed and two single beds. The smaller bedroom has a double bed. Outside there is a patio with table and chairs to enjoy the long summer nights. Then there is the large enclosed garden to the rear with fruit trees and a log store.

We loved the cottage which is perfectly situated for exploring the forest. Also for great pubs. We were also happy sitting the terrace looking out on the lovely garden. Very relaxing stay
I’m reluctant to give a good review but only so it’s easier to book in the future, it’s a gem of a property in a great location with an amazing garden. What’s not to like, we’ll definitely book again.
Fantastic little house on Beaulieu high street - lots of little shops/cafes and restaurants nearby.
Beautiful part of country.
Lovely house
Highly recommend
We stayed here for two nights, Matthew was really accommodating providing a bottle of cava, cake and some milk. Super clear instructions and great communication on places of interest nearby. The cottage is very homely and we had a great time.
The cottage was much bigger than expected, extremely clean yet still very cosy The open planned layout of the kitchen and the dining room overlooking the garden is a fabulous social space. And the sitting room with the log burner is very comfortable and spacious. It's a very lovely cottage in an ideal location ... really quiet at night. We could not have wished for more
We had a lovely few days staying in this lovely quirky home with our adult children. Plenty of space inside for us all , and as the weather was kind to us so we spent our meal times and evenings enjoying the lovely garden too .
When Americans fantasize about rural England, Beaulieu and the old Bsnk Vottage are exactly what we have in mind. This is an amazing find just short distance from London. Easy access to numerous locations of interest.
Your hosts have thought of every detail. You will be staying in a charming and comfortable lodging in the center of a magical village.
Beautiful cottage, very high end , like a cottage out of Homes and Gardens, gorgeous secure garden, dogs were very happy. My husband and I had a lovely stay, could not fault it. Mr and Mrs Daley from Chichester, West Sussex.
Wow! From the moment we walked in we were in LOVE with this place. It was first class all the way with all the goodies Matthew welcomed us with. And it was 100 percent cozy and beautiful with its wood-burning stove, beautiful garden, decor and 17th C history. Beaulieu is a beautiful little village too. Love its horses and donkeys!
Really enjoyed our stay in Beaulieu, great location in the heart of the New Forest. The property itself has the history and charm you would expect from a listed building with tasteful furnishings and comfort throughout. We will be back!
We had a lovely stay in Beaulieu, the cottage is so interesting and full of character. The garden was beautiful, and our dogs enjoyed lying out on the grass for hours. The village is sweet, good spots for breakfast and walking to Bucklers Hard was enjoyable.
Loved the house and the garden was perfect for my little dog. Lovely patio area - it had a charcoal BBQ. Ideally, a gas one would have been easier, but we managed. Beaulieu is a beautiful village.
Really spacious well maintained cottage right in the center of Beaulieu
Good to have a parking place in such a busy little village
The welcoming supplies were gratefully recieved The cottage is so well equipped , on of the best we have stayed in Mathew was attentive and helpful and diiscreet ''
Wonderful hosts, lots of information and seamless booking process. Immaculate property with everything needed and more. Super comfy beds and a lovely place to come back to to relax in the evening, the wood burning stove was a wonderful touch. . Perfect location for exploring the area. A real home from home experience.
Beautiful old cottage set in the heart of the village. Stayed in cold January but was very cosy with a lovely log burner. Lovely garden that we didn’t use but can imagine it’s delight in the warmer months. Wouldn’t change a thing. Will definitely return!
This was such a lovely cottage and I could have spent the day just sitting on the patio watching the birds explore the garden!
The cottage is very well appointed and anything that we could have needed was right there. It felt very much like a cozy home rather than not a rental, with comfortable sofas, beds, and a kitchen that I am quite envious of. The carrot cake and fizz that was left for us was a lovely touch and we enjoyed that on our first night.
Absolutely gorgeous place and highly recommend!
A very pretty cottage which is well equipped and very attractively and comfortably furnished. The garden is large and secluded which makes it great for outside dining in the summer. Its situation at the quiet end of the High Street is great, especially as it is almost opposite a garden centre where Steph’s Kitchen, cooks the best breakfast we e had for a long time.
The only caveat is the shower is in a roll top bath and would not the easiest to get in and out of.
Otherwise, a great place.
Old Bank House is very pretty and beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need for a short stay, as well as being spotlessly clean. Lovely to have milk, cake and a bottle of bubbly on arrival and the house and garden were very easy to settle into and enjoy immediately. Beaulieu is very sweet even if solely geared-up for tourists with above London prices from the (average) cafe opposite and little in the way of basics available from the local shop. The Beaulieu Bakehouse, however, is outstanding. We enjoyed our stay so much and the charm of the house added a great deal to our wonderful minibreak. We would love to come back for a much longer stay in the near future. Thank you.
We have just arrived back from a great weeks stay in Beaulieu. The cottage was lovely, spacious, and had everything we needed. It was also in a superb location, so we barely used our car. Everything was within cycling distance! The garden was fab too and we sat outside to eat most evenings. The high street is great and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The donkeys, cows and horses were happily popping by regularly, which we all loved to see.
There are two 22kw EV charging points at Beaulieu car park (free to park after 6pm). We used this to charge and it was literally a minutes walk from the cottage. Perfect!
We can definitely recommend Beaulieu Motor museum, Exbury Gardens, Bucklers Hard, Furzey Gardens (which support people with all disabilities), Steffs Kitchen and their community allotment across the road, and Sailability in Lymington. Sailability are a charity, and offer boating opportunities for the disabled. Our daughter uses a wheelchair and they had a boat where she could wheel straight on. It was £10 each for me and my husband to join her, and she enjoyed a 90 minute boat trip. It was really fantastic!
A super trip to New Forest, and we can't wait to return to Beaulieu very soon.
