If you can bring yourself to venture away from this serene place the surrounding countryside and coastline is a joy to behold. The unspoilt beach at Mothecombe is well worth a visit, with golden sand and sheltered coves with rockpools for all ages to enjoy. The village of Newton Ferrers sits on the banks of the Yealm Estuary, boasting both fabulous views and pretty cottages. As you wind your way along the coast, through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many beaches and villages here, all perfect for walking and exploring and immersing yourself within its glory. Inland, famous Dartmoor with its million shades of green, rolling hills and spectacular vistas is a delight whilst to the west lies Plymouth, the historical naval city with its marinas, attractions, plethora of restaurants and shops.
