About this property
Blackhorse Cottage, Brancaster Staithe, Norfok
This super cottage enjoys one of the best locations on the North Norfolk coast with the most spectacular and unspoilt views of the main harbour of this popular coastal village, that extend over to Scolt Head Island in the distance. And with your own private garden access onto the coastal path, you have found a winner!
In a former life, Blackhorse Cottage was initially the village pub and then became the local stores, but has since then become a very popular holiday property run under the same family ownership for over thirty years. Once inside the cottage, you will find it presents beautifully with a lovely relaxing, light and airy, spacious feel from top to bottom, with comfort always foremost in mind. To one side of the entrance hallway, you will find a large farmhouse style fitted kitchen/breakfast room with lovely exposed timbers and equipped to a very high standard with everything you could possibly need, and decorated in a charming nautical theme. Next door is a cosy family garden room where there is a solid fuel fire and a television with DVD player providing entertainment, this is a great place for little ones to play too. On the other side of the cottage is the lovely large sunny family room, referred to as the Marsh Room that has an inset dining area and two large sofas to sink into, with a Bose music system to play your favourite music. The name of the room speaks for itself - two floor to ceiling glazed wide sliding doors look out across the length of the garden and over to the ever changing marsh landscape. Take a seat and watch boats heading out with the tide and the roosting geese and wading birds at sunset. When it's time to retire, upstairs you will find three delightful bedrooms (a king-size and two twin bedrooms), all with high quality mattress toppers to ensure the best night's sleep, and served by two bathrooms, with one on each floor.
Outside, the cottage has a large, well-fenced secure garden with lawns stretching down to the coastal path, allowing plenty of room for children and dogs to run and let off steam. A hose is thoughtfully provided beside the back door for washing down muddy paws and little 'marsh monsters'! Two outside seating areas offer the opportunity to sit in the garden and watch the setting sun in comfort - just take your pick! The cottage is located centrally in the village; you have two really good pubs on the doorstep, as well as a fresh fish shack over the road, and the shops and facilities at neighbouring Burnham Deepdale are all within walking distance.
