Had a great time in this perfect little getaway!

The house was perfect, very clean and quaint, the host was very nice, and we really enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend!

This was a very nice cottage. Great furnishings, well stocked kitchen and extra touches (muffins, coffee selection, bottled water). As mentioned by the host, the driveway is steep but manageable. Take care with parking to be able to turn around to exit.Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Wonderful Cottage in Cross Lanes

The cottage was wonderful. Fresh muffins awaiting our arrival, Keurig coffee and lots of fresh towels. Access was super easy and we loved trees turning into fall. All in all it was a wonderful stay.

Wonderful!!

This is the second time I have stayed here and it does not disappoint. Clean, well equipped with what you need and peaceful. Will stay here every time I have business in Charleston.

Cottage on the Hill

The cottage was great and Nancy was wonderful. I would definitely stay again. I really liked the inside and it looked even better than the pics. We would certainly recommend this cute cottage to everyone.

pleasant get-away

Quiet setting in forested area close-in to Charleston, WV. Well-appointed kitchen and outdoor eating areas. Lots of birds and other wildlife. Very easy self check-in.

This was a lovely little cottage. It was very clean and nicely decorated. There were some really nice touches such a large muffins on the table, a Keurig coffee maker with assorted coffee flavors and creamers in the fridge. There were also bottles of water in the fridge. The sheets and towels were really nice, like what you would find in a hotel. There were also little bottles of shampoo, body wash, and lotion. The owner was responsive to my questions throughout the stay. We would definitely return if we visit WV again.

Cute Cottage and Hospitable Host.

We stayed in Charleston, West Virginia while visiting family who also traveled to the area. The cottage was so cute and exactly as described. The check in process was super easy and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. An excellent selection of coffee and a plate of tasty muffins added a special touch. The weekend was rainy so we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the grounds, but there is a nice firepit as well as hiking trails. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Nice place

We truly enjoyed the property. Off the beaten path, but still close to everything we needed. The only thing I would suggest for future guests is bring house shoes! The heating grate is in the hallway and not the most comfortable thing to step on! Easy enough to step around, though. I would definitely stay again if I find myself in the Charleston area.

Very nice and relaxing property.

My husband and I just wanted to get away for the weekend and this place was perfect. It is far enough out, but also close to town so you don't have to drive a long way to get to sights and stores. The cottage was so cozy and everything was just as it says or better. The property is beautiful and very peaceful.

Close to everything

It was a great stay. We were Just a short drive from the casino. Cottage had waters in the fridge and muffin's. Would recommend this place to anyone and Will definitely be returning

Fox bark Lane

The property was fine, but there was torrential rains and flash flooding near the area. It was a nice place to be ‘marooned’.

It feels like home.

This property is perfect. Nancy has it stocked with everything you could ever need, fuffy towels, soft sheets, pots, and pans. It was the second time we stayed here. I didn’t want to leave. There is a lot to do in the area, hiking, shopping, restaurants all within a few minutes drive. We especially enjoyed the fire pit this time. I would go back anytime. You will not be disappointed if you stay here! Thank you Nancy and Ron!

Clean, Quaint & Cozy

We had a great stay! Everything was just as pictured or better. Only slept in the master bedroom, but bed was extremely comfortable. Amenities provided were above and beyond. Great for 2 people or even a small family of 4. Highly recommend!

Great little cottag

Perfect spot to reconnect with an old friend for the weekend. A bit closer to busy road than ideal, but honestly, that wasn't a problem, just unexpected. Cottage was very cute and had everything we needed.

Peaceful

My husband and I had a very peaceful stay in West Virginia. The cottage was cozy and well equipped with everything you could need while on vacation. Having coffee, cold water and delicious muffins available upon arrival was a really nice touch! Nancy and her husband were available right away when we had a very slight surprise and handled it immediately! This is a great location for a small family or a small group of friends.

Immaculate and charming

Nancy has created a restful and beautiful cottage with a large and comfortable sofa, super comfortable beds and a spacious country kitchen that is well appointed for preparing simple meals. The cottage was fresh and immaculately clean on our arrival, and delicious breakfast muffins awaited us. Thank you, Nancy, for a perfect long weekend retreat!

Great Stay

The house and property were great...felt like home away from home. The host, Nancy, was great to work with as well and very responsive to any questions. As shown in other reviews, the downside of this property is the steep and broken driveway and is the reason for a 4-star review rather than a 5-star. The driveway is almost problematic enough where it would not be passable to a typical car...our SUV struggled on the first few tries to get up the driveway. The house was extremely comfortable and we all had great sleep.

Relaxing getaway.

For our 28th Anniversary we went to Charleston to visit our daughter who had moved there in January. We wanted a relaxing, no commitment couple of days. This cottage was the perfect spot. The decor was soothing and it is nice to have an equipped kitchen for us to bring some of our own food to cook so that we are not running all the time. It was rainy each night we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the grounds as much. But the days were dry so we still had a lot of fun in the downtown area and visited several parks. The driveway is very steep and we scraped our car some but we figured out how to angle to get up the hill without scraping. When we go back to visit our daughter we want to reserve this cottage again. It was the perfect place and size for us. Thank you Nancy for the lovely stay. You were so helpful with all the questions I had.
