Lovely house, close to everything

We loved the house and especially the fireplace. The two lounges were fab. The garden was lovely but lots of trip hazards for small children and not secure if you were to take a doggy with you. The sheep next door were lovely. The bathrooms could do with upgrading as the showers weren’t great and the paint was all peeling off in the downstairs toilet. Surprised no welcome pack with some essentials like milk/eggs etc felt like a commercial property rather than homely due to that.

Extremely helpful host , excellent communication. The Red House is a very elegant property , a little tired in places , but this adds to its charm . If you are looking for a sleek , ultra modern property then this is not for you . But if you want a property that gives you the feel of visiting a much loved elderly but stylish aunt who hugs you on arrival , this is the one . Very comfortable beds in well proportioned rooms . Two beautiful sitting rooms to the front of the house and a garden that totally delights both adults and children. Easy access to Christchurch ,surrounding coast and the new Forest . My family and I had a truly wonderful and restorative stay. Would be delighted to return.

6/10 Okay

Beautiful house and garden but poor management.

Location great. Beautiful house and Garden although dog poo had not been picked up. Well equipped kitchen. Large beds but extremely hard mattresses and pillows so sleep/comfort was not the best. Shower was very low pressure. Lack of communication from Chloe was an issue not replying to emails or answering calls. No Welcome pack was provided although upon reading the guest book a welcome pack of honey is normally provided. If bed comfort and communication is improved I would return and recommend.
