About this property
Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge Cabin - Suite B
An airy cabin with high ceilings and lots of windows surrounded front and back by the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. A photographer's dream. See the native waterfowl, or the hundreds of migrating birds of the Eastern Flyway. Alligators, a large colony of endangered Wood Storks, Roseate Spoonbills, Painted Buntings, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, deer, turkeys. A perfect place to cool off and catch a nap between morning and evening photo sessions. Only ten minutes from I-95, Exit 67. Literally one minute from the public saltwater ramp, then 15 minutes boat ride to the Intracoastal Waterway, Blackbeard, St. Catherine's and Sapelo Islands, Atlantic Ocean and beaches. See dolphins every boating trip. Great fishing for flounder, trout, redfish, head offshore for the big stuff....King and Spanish Mackeral, Grouper, Barracuda. Private bedroom, Queen size bed, plus a big common room with fold out sofa, dinette table, kitchen with full size fridge, sink, microwave, large toaster oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. Please note: while a convection oven and microwave are included, there is no full size oven or stovetop. The large screened in back porch (only) is shared with the other Suite. The Georgia coast is one of the most pristine natural areas on earth. Come see it for yourself ! (For some reason, some booking sites (Expedia, for one) describes this duplex unit as "Adult Only." This is not correct. Children are welcome, and children may occupy the separate rental space next door.) This is a completely private side of a duplex building, sharing only the rear porch. Please note pets are welcome, but NOT ON OUR BEDS, BEDDING OR FURNITURE, and with a $ 15 pet fee left as a tip for our cleaner !!

Our stay at Harris Neck was surprisingly better than pictures. We enjoyed being surrounded by wildlife preserve and sitting in comfortable screened porch with fans. Plenty of room inside and outside including friendly neighbors. Very clean and convenient location between Savannah and Brunswick. Ever back in area, we’ll 100% stay again. Thanks for great weekend…. Property just as advertised. Perfect location for birders and close to some excellent seafood restaurants. We will definitely be goong back in the winter.
Another great stay at this clean and cool cabin in the middle of so much wildlife! Deer and turkeys frequented the backyard and no shortage of birds, hogs, alligator, fox, and armadillo in and around the refuge. Loved it!
The cabin had no toilet paper. paper towels. garbage bags , hair dryer . Found Larva in bed , bitten on neck and arms many times . I was miserable. The screened porch is dirty , people were living in adjacent cabin . Although it has a refrigerator freezer , dish washer , cooking utensils it has no stove . They also asked for 30.00 cleaning fee for my little dog who basically stayed in her crate. A couch , chair and table thats it .I don't recommend this place , wont be back
Everything was as advertised. We would stay here again.

An absolutely lovely cabin nestled in the quiet of a nature preserve. This beautiful space was warm, welcoming, and impeccably clean, and our host was extremely responsive to all my questions. Highly recommend this property!
Nice, clean cabin, worked out well for our family traveling south thru Georgia. Beautiful natural park area surrounding area. Would like to stay again to see more of the fauna and wildlife in spring- fall.
Location, location, location! I wanted to explore the wildlife refuge and couldn't believe my luck, it's seriously across the street from this property.
This is a gem and I look forward to my next road trip to stay here again!
The duplex is very comfortable and clean, and the location can't be beat! I was there for a photography excursion, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I saw a variety of birds and an armadillo on the property, and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful location. It was so nice to be so close to the refuge!
This was a great place to stay especially if you have a bike and kayak. We drove and biked through the refuge and enjoyed it more on the bikes. We did a short kayak trip on Harris Neck Creek at high tide and it was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!

Why they chose this property
After hundreds of visits to the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, I wanted to rebuild a fire-destroyed house that had become an eyesore, directly at the exit of the NWR. Every trip out, I'd see the ruins and wish there was something better there. After speaking with many visitors to the NWR, and neighboring area, I felt a small overnight-to -weekly rental would work, and be a better asset to the community than the sad ruins. With the benefit of bordering the NWR front AND back !!, the site is perfect for a traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle, if only for a night. For the wildlife lover or photographer, it is a perfect retreat, to cool down in the middle of a hot day, and rest up for the next photo or viewing session. For a weekend fisherman it is perfect to access the ramp and coastal waters.
