About this property
2 Bed in Niton (oc-b31835)
A perfect retreat for those seeking to spend time on the beautiful Isle of Wight, this bijou hideaway is superb all year round. Sleeping four guests, making it ideal for couples and small families, it has a delightful, lawned garden for spring and summer and a wood burner for the colder months. Nestled in Niton, 4.5 miles from Ventnor, it is 1.5 miles from picture-postcard Rocken End Beach, which has dramatic views and is accessed by a steep path. Stock up on baked goods, and local meat and dairy at the village shop, just 50 metres away, or dine out at the pub, cafe or pizza restaurant in Niton. From the cottage, walk just over 1 mile through scenic downs to St Catherine’s Lighthouse. Any children in your party will be thrilled by a trip to Blackgang Chine, thought to be the UK's oldest theme park, under 2 miles away. Head into Sandown, 10 miles, for shops, eateries and family-friendly beaches. Also visit the dinosaur museum, stroll along the pier and enjoy the animal sanctuary here.
Follow the path to the front door of the charming, white-washed cottage and let yourselves in to find a warm welcome and immaculate accommodation. Head into the lounge to light the wood burner and settle down on the soft seating with a good book. This lovely room, which has a wooden floor and beautiful bay window, also features a TV so you can catch up on your favourite shows between trips out. When mealtimes beckon, amble through the cottage to the friendly kitchen/diner, with its country-cream cabinets and small farmhouse table. Prepare tasty dishes in here and dine together on those occasions you choose not to eat out. A bathroom, where you can treat yourself to a long, hot soak, and the garden door are beyond. As night falls, climb the stairs to the first floor of this cosy abode to lay your head in one of the bedrooms. These include an inviting king-size and a lovely twin with two single beds, with a pretty, feature fireplace.
Spread out into the garden on fine days. Climb the stone steps to the grassy area, where there is also a patio and dining space, under a leafy pergola. Have afternoon tea here on warm days and open a bottle of chilled one on pleasant nights. Parking for this cottage is on the street, subject to availability.
