About this property
PRETTY, COSY COTTAGE FOR 2 - 4 NEAR SOUTH COAST, BEAUTIFUL QUIET LOCATION
A charming and pretty converted medieval brewhouse, renovated in contemporary style with a quirky mix of modern and retro furnishing, and located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Dark Skies. You feel hidden away from the world as you look out at the amazing view.
2 comfortable and cosy bedrooms with blackout blinds -- the main bedroom (kingsize) is more spacious than the twin room, but both have very comfortable beds and good clothes storage.
2 well-equipped wet rooms, one ensuite to the main bedroom, nice hot showers and good pressure, and a thoroughly modern kitchen area -- with induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, washer-dryer and all the cooking and eating equipment you need -- leading on to a dining area and beyond that to a cosy yet roomy lounging area. So comfortable you might not want to get off the sofa!
6 minutes' drive from the pretty village of Shorwell with pub and village shop, a scattering of other lovely little villages and pubs nearby, and close to lots of things to do locally: seaside towns, footpaths, beaches, water sports and several children’s attractions, including Blackgang Chine on the dinosaur-famous Jurassic Coast, Tapnell Farm for climbing, shooting, go-karting and more, and Robin Hill with its falconry, jungle heights, toboggan run and other adventures. Golfing, fishing and clay shooting are also on offer. The entire island is reachable within half an hour, with the exception of Bembridge, which is 40 minutes.
We are lucky to be within reach of some of the island’s best foodie restaurants and gastropubs — in Ventnor, Cowes, Yarmouth, Newport and smaller villages all around. Suggestions and recommendations are provided in the cottage -- and can also be sent in advance.
Private outside terrace with tables and seating and the most fantastic view, plus a dry-storage box for muddy boots.
Own drive and parking space for several cars.
The cottage looks over a lake that's teeming with wildlife -- and the view carries on towards the downs -- it's scenery that's hard to beat and a sense of quiet that's hard to find.

About the host
Hosted by Juliet

We bought Kingston Manor a few years ago and had no idea until we moved in that we were buying in such a beautiful and peaceful part of the Isle of Wight. We wanted to share the enjoyment, and we converted the cottage so other people could come to this very special location and experience the pleasures of the Isle of Wight.
Why they chose this property
The cottage is within the grounds of our manor house, and is successfully orientated away from the house towards the truly stunning view -- neither party would ever know the other was there. It’s a beautiful little hideaway 10 minutes from the sea and max 30 minutes to almost everywhere.
What makes this property unique
It's a wonderfully attractive mix of old beams and modern comforts, where every window looks out onto a beautiful scene -- a really pleasing, cosy space that feels like a haven away from the madding crowd. Yet it's within easy distance of anywhere on the island. The fabulous view and the privacy are a large part of its charm.
