About this property

2 Bed in Bakewell (oc-dcrose)

Rose Cottage is a beautifully presented traditional Derbyshire stone cottage in the midst of the popular village of Youlgreave - a brilliant base from which to explore the 'Peaks'. It's a 'real' village with a lovely church, proper village stores and three great pubs all just a stagger away. You can also enjoy a stroll down Bradford Dale, spotting the kingfishers and dippers in the river, and all the other incredible walks around the village.

There are innumerable other things to do and see nearby. Wonderful Chatsworth House, lovely Haddon Hall and super Bakewell are all within a few miles. Or perhaps make it a day out cycling along the High Peak Trail, splashing about in Carsington Water, riding Peak Rail's steam trains, absorbing the many aspects of the Crich Tramway museum and village or indulging in some motor car nostalgia at the Great British Car Journey in Ambergate.

Ground Floor:

Lounge: with Chesterfield sofa, two easy chairs, traditional rocking chair, wood burning stove (initial basket of logs provided), Smart TV, DVD player, DAB radio/CD/bluetooth and WiFi.

Kitchen Diner: fully equipped, with oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge freezer, slim dishwasher and washer/dryer; drop-leaf table and four chairs.

First Floor:

Bedroom 1: a double bedroom with brass bedstead and beautiful furnishings.

Bedroom 2: with twin beds, again with cast iron/brass bedsteads; sloping ceilings with some limited headroom.

Family bathroom: with shower over the bath, basin and WC.

Outside: there is a lovely garden with garden furniture about 10 yards from the back door across a shared rear yard. Small gated courtyard to the front with bench.

Parking: on the road outside the cottage and on the other lanes in the village.

A cot, highchair and stairgate can be requested.
