About the host

Host profile image
Babs and Paul crafted their hospitality skills running the famous Cornish elopement wedding venue Frieda And The Moon. Babs continues wedding floristry, and is a singer and harmonica player in our Americana band. Paul has had a long career in creative arts — he was sound designer for The Royal Shakespeare Company, and head of an international arts school. Latterly he is a songwriter, artist, and novelist. A range of his drawings and paintings decorate The Lantern Loft and are for sale to our visitors. We learned some things from building up our wedding venue over ten years — people delight in quirky interesting places with interiors crafted with care and originality — The Lantern Loft is themed throughout in the style of Bloomsbury — the world of colour and ideas that exploded into life between the wars in England — the time our house was built. Virginia Woolf would have felt at home here. Secondly we learned to exceed expectations in quality and care, and pay close attention to detail.
