About this property

Perfect Contemporary Mountain Cabin

Newly renovated and expanded log cabin brings modern luxury to the heart of the mountains. Located high above the valley floor, with panoramic views of Sopris Mountain, Capital Peak, Mount Daly, the very top of the Maroon Bells, and the Snowmass Ski area—with truly stunning sunsets—our home is still only minutes from Whole Foods, movie theaters, bars and restaurants, bowling, shopping and more. Only 20 minutes to the lifts of the Aspen area ski mountains (Ajax, Buttermilk, Highlands, and Snowmass), and 12 minutes to Basalt, home of gold medal fishing, and endless summertime hiking up and down the valley. Nearby Carbondale boasts excellent food, has a lively First Friday (night of fun, when the business throw open their doors and the whole town comes out, on the first Friday of every month), and great cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.

Built by people who love to cook and entertain, the house is centered around its open kitchen and living space. With room for 6+, there is a master suite, a queen guest room, and another with two twin beds (two additional twin mattresses are available if more kids want to bunk up). Each guest room has its own in suite sink, for added comfort and privacy, with access to both a tub and steam shower. Take a bath and watch rabbits and deer walk by (or don’t, there’s a shade if you’re shy). Extensive decking surrounds the house, so adventurous children must be watched closely.

This is our home, and is made so by our collection of artwork, furniture, and books, and lacks the impersonality of so many rentals.

The house sits on 4+ acres, the nearest house 100 yards away, and is very private, so come to enjoy the area, or to hide out from everything. No matter what time of the year, this home is one of a kind.

Wonderful house in a spectacular location

We had an amazing time in this spacious, sunlit home with incredible views of the mountains. The big living room with the kitchen was perfect for having meals with everyone and hanging out, and the bedrooms feel very secluded if you need your own space. The owners have quite a library, we wish we could come back for a month to read everything we wanted, and relax on the decks around the house!

Great house, great location, great hosts!

This is a lovely house with fantastic views of Mt. Sopris and lots of space to spread out both inside and outside. The layout was perfect for us and our 2 children with them having one end of the house and us having the other. All of the furniture, appliances and supplied utensils/equipment were good quality and we were lacking for nothing. There were even plentiful sharp knives and lots of convenient storage space which are usually something you struggle to get on vacation! The location was very peaceful and with 360 views of the mountains - everything we were looking for in our first trip to Colorado. We were a short drive to good supermarkets and a selection of restaurants, and there are good hiking trails all around. Highly recommended for a perfect vacation!

Perfect mountain retreat

Our family spent 5 weeks at the house. Spectacular views. Very close to all the services and yet perfectly remote. The property manager, Mercedes, was extremely responsive and effective with any and all our needs. 5 stars.

Beautiful home stay

Excellent home for our family. We worked, played, cooked, enjoyed the views and created valuable family memories. Close to shops, parks and loved the wood stove, steam showers, gourmet kitchen, comfy beds and plenty of space for all. Thank you Mercedes!

The perfect retreat

We loved everything about our stay- thank you! The outdoor spaces, incredible views, the deer, the quiet location- all make us sad to leave after a great month. The cabin is the perfect mix of rustic and luxury. So clean and comfortable. Easy to get to Aspen, Basalt and Carbondale -you feel far away from it all yet the grocery store is minutes down the road. Management and owners were so responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone wanting a Colorado experience without all the traffic and crowds. Thanks again!

What a great house!!!

What a great house!!! The photos do not do it justice... We came to ski relax and while there wasn’t too much snow yet, there was so much to do- we had a great time anyway. The house is so clean, new, and beautiful. Best view anywhere. Started to snow like crazy just as we were leaving and we really wished we could have stayed longer. So nice to be away from the crowds of Aspen and Snowmass but close to so much good food. There’s a Whole Foods right at the bottom of the hill! Couldn’t be more convent AND secluded. We want to come back in the summer to fish and hike. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!
