Unassuming sophistication! Sweeping views of the Mussel Ridge Channel, Owls Head harbor and the Atlantic Ocean from every window. Enjoy the gentle, soothing sound of the ocean while you relax in this unique & stylish cottage. Perfect for a small family or couples on vacation.
This is property is exclusively listed and booked only on VRBO / Homeaway websites!

Just 18 feet from a secluded, clean and private pebble beach; Castlewood Cottage is small, private, completely renovated and beautifully appointed. Exquisite detailing throughout!

New kitchen with granite counter tops, new appliances (dish drawer, microwave drawer, gas stove and oven, refrigerator, Keurig and toaster. Outside is a stainless steel gas grill.

Living room has a 51” flatscreen TV, Hampton Gas Stove and a back up Rinnai heating system. The sun porch serves as a dining area but also has a small day bed for additional sleeping. (1 person)

The downstairs has a full bath as well as a cozy bedroom which offers a double bed.

The second floor is the Master Suite, which offers a king size bed, 2 dressers, a large closet, washer and dryer, a 51” flatscreen TV, a 1/2 bath, and a lovely sitting area, with unbelievable views.

Throughout the cottage is WiFi, Direct TV, Airplay Surround Sound and Apple TV.

Castlewood Cottage is walking distance to the Owls Head Post Office, the Owls Head Lighthouse and the General Store (home of Food Networks award winning “Seven Napkin Burger.”).
Owls Head is also minutes from downtown Rockland, for all major restaurants, (including Primo, recipient of the 2013 James Beard Award), museums, library, movie theatre, food shopping, galleries and boutiques. The cottage is also 13 miles from downtown Camden Maine; perfect for sunset sails, lunch on the docks and charming shops.

Drive to Birch State Park, The Samoset Resort & Gold Club in Rockport and the Owls Head Transportation Museum.

The Knox County Regional Airport : 7 min away
Bus lines to Boston leave from Rockland.

Maine Heaven

We had such an amazing time at this beautiful home overlooking the ocean. The home was cozy, very clean, has everything you could possibly need and the views simply spectacular. Listening to the lobster boats puttering out of the harbor, watching shore birds running along the beach and the evening sunsets were simply magical. So quiet and peaceful. We even saw a bald eagle land in the maple tree next to the house -- now you don't see THAT everyday. We hope to return again soon!!

Fifth year at Castlewood

The fact that we have chosen to book Castlewood Cottage five times should tell much of the story. It is a truly lovely, well maintained, perfectly situated vacation home. Book without concerns, just not when WE want to book it!!!

Lovely cottage

This is the third time my husband and I stayed at this property and we love it for a winter getaway. Quiet, clean, super comfortable and right on a small cove. You can see fantastic sunrises. You can do some rock collecting. We will be coming again!

Thanksgiving, coastal paradise

The Castlewood Cottage is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully decorated with a 180° view of Owls Head Harbor is magnificent. The yard, beach and water views are memorizing! Watching the waterfowl was awesome! We saw: Loon. Mergansers, surf Scoters and best of all Long-tailed ducks. I made a lovely non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner that included Lobster. We dined at Long Grain in Camden, it was Fabulous. We had a MOST MEMORABLE meal at Primo on our last night. We could not have planned a better Thanksgiving holiday. We will definitely return the Castlewood Cottage. Thank you!

Lovely house on the water

Spent 3 nights in October and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Hostess greeted us at the house and was very kind to get the television set up so we could watch the NBA games and ensure we were settled. House was spotless, has fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and a wonderful view of Penobscot Bay. Was easy to find with GPS. Would highly recommend.

Quiet getaway

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is located on the rock beach. The house is beautiful and comfortable with stunning views of the water. The kitchen is well stocked and cooking and dining in was very easy. The location is very peaceful and isolated, which was perfect for relaxation.

Best vacation home in Maine

Our fifth summer at this cottage explains why we love coming to this beautiful vacation home. The views of lobster boats and sailboats outside cannot be beat. The furnishings are beautiful and the location is perfect for a quiet stay or day trips along the coast.

A true treasure in Maine

You could not ask for a better house on all levels, in Maine or anywhere else. Gordon was incredible with communication and just ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. The house is perfect, the beds incredibly comfortable, it’s extremely private and is equipped with just about anything you could ever need. I didn’t want to leave! My kids also enjoyed playing at the beach, comfortably slept and loved the stay as well.
