Oceanfront Sugar Beach Resort Penthouse 34. Amazing Ocean Views! Remodeled!

Welcome to Sugar Beach Resort Penthouse 34, one of the best ocean view condos in Maui. The top floor lanai is very private and looks out on endless ocean and 5 miles of white sandy beach - perfect for peaceful morning or evening walks. Watch the whales during whale season (December to April) without leaving the residence, and experience some of the best sunsets in Maui from the balcony. The ocean view is spectacular!!

PH34 is rented directly from the owners. The kitchen and bath were completely remodeled with all new stainless steel appliances and beautiful quartz counters in the kitchen for a very clean and modern feel. It has very comfortable furniture including a king size bed. The sleeper sofa has a queen size upgraded mattress for your comfort. The condo also has a smart flat screen TV. We provide free wifi as well for your convenience.

Our condo also has central air conditioning which is rare for maui condos - keep the inside at whatever temperature makes you the most comfortable. The condo is tastefully equipped with everything you will need including beach umbrellas, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, etc.

The complex has elevators for easy access from the condo to the beach and beautiful oceanfront pool, spa, and BBQs. The grounds are manicured and the grass leads you right to be beach, only steps away. There is an activities booking company in the lobby for you to take advantage of Maui's sights and excursions, or just relax all week and do nothing.

Sugar Beach is conveniently located on the west side of Maui. It is approximately 15 minutes from the airport (and Costco!), 15-20 minutes north of Wailea and 30 minutes south of Kaanapali and Lahaina.

Free parking including covered parking and no resort fees or hidden fees. Finally, please note Sugar Beach Resort closes their pool the second week of September each year for annual maintenance. Please inquire about discounted rates for this week.

The property was just as fantastic as we expected! Right on the water with an amazing view, large patio to enjoy your morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail. Beach chairs and towels were provided which was appreciated. The kitchen is very stocked with anything you could think of! Some reviews I read stated that the bathroom door was odd/did not exist. We did not find this to be true as there is a pocket door to the bathroom which provided privacy. My husband and I look forward to booking this unit again next year!

Amazing Location

Beautiful, quiet property. Loved Dina’s Sandwitch shop and the Sugar Beach Bakery. Location was perfect! Great views with the beach, feet away. The unit was uber clean, watch out for the sliding glass door (too clean/clear you forget it’s there).

I come to Maui once or twice a year. This condo is heaven on earth. The beach is walkable! Most of the condos I have rented, that’s not so. The ocean is easy to swim in. This is a non tourist but delightful spot. If you have a car, it’s perfect. The host has been amazing. I’ve already booked my next vacation here. We enjoyed our stay here even though the weather was terrible while in Maui. It was nice while we were stuck in doors to have a nice place to watch movies or sit on the lanai and read, while enjoying the sounds of the waves.

Great Beachfront Penthouse

This was our Second Time staying at Sugar Beach Resort. It’s a perfect Location for getting around the island . Awesome Beachfront penthouse condo. Having Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards & umbrellas is great addition. We will stay here again if it’s available when we come back.

Can't get any closer to the water! Beautiful location. The condo is on the top floor with excellent views. Clean, well maintained. Upgraded appliances in the full kitchen. The provided beach gear came in handy when visiting nearby beaches. Would definitely stay here again. The owner Kevin was great to work with.

Great Getaway

Everything was wonderful. Great location, the condo was what we expected. However, we were not told that we needed to register with the office. The office reached out to us on the third day. Everything was fine and we didn’t get our car towed. We would definitely go back.

Amazing view and good central location

The view is fantastic and it has a good central location in Maui if you plan on traveling to other parts of the island. The layout is odd, you have to go through the bathroom to get to the bedroom. They skimp on a few things like no kleenex, only 3 dishwasher tablets for a week stay, no luggage stands, and it is one of the only condos in the building that has no patio blinds (not a big deal if you get up early). Our check-in code was wrong, but that was resolved quickly after talking with the property manager. Having a washing machine in the unit was a nice bonus and a good way to lighten your suitcase.

Most beautiful view! Bed was comfortable, everything was very clean. Biggest let down was the unit felt “cheap,” more like a dorm than a penthouse condo. Scuff marks were haphazardly painted over so very noticeable, and decor was minimalistic to a fault. With just a little care to details this property would be amazing. It’s an older building so there are some quirks (like the dryer venting in the bathroom) but all in all it was a great stay.

A pleasant stay

I think the unit is very nice. Lovely view and layout. Air conditioning was “Hawaiian style”. (We used the fan in the bedroom.) it was so nice for you to provide 4 beach towels, two beach chairs,plenty of shampoo and conditioner, laundry soap, dishwashing soap, fresh towels, toilet paper, paper towels. This is not always the case! Pool was really nice. Cool water. Comfy lounge chairs. Checking in was a small hassle. We got there at 6pm. We went back the next day at 2:00. There was a sign on the door stating that she “would be back soon.” So we tried a third time and we would have had to return a fourth time since we did not know our license plate number. ( we were mad and we decided to risk it) Other than that it was a really nice vacation before our conference.

We are Northern California residents with three kids. My wife and I discovered Maui on our honeymoon in 1997 and we have been vacationing here ever since (as much as possible!). We finally bought our condo in 2018 and immediately purchased all new furniture, rugs, glasses, plates etc. to make it as comfortable as possible, not only for ourselves and family, but also for you.

Why they chose this property

Sugar Beach Resort has some of the best balcony views in Maui and is west facing so the sunsets are breathtaking. The balcony is also very private - you are 100% separated from your neighbors and being on the top floor it is quiet, other than the sound of the waves! We love this property because it's in a peaceful and quiet area. Oceanfront view condos in Wailea and Makenna generally cost $800-$1200 per night and up. Sugar Beach Resort has equally exceptional views for significantly less money. The beach is also longer than any other white sandy beach in Maui, and most of the beach has no condos or hotels.
