Good view of the lake from the front yard grandkids were happy to watch the kid shows on Disney and Netflix well stocked with kitchen items we didn’t have to bring any towels or linen which was great comfortable furniture
Perfect cottage for 3 ladies. Well equipped kitchen, although we didn't cook very muvh except for breakfast. The cottage was clean. We loved the view of Hamlin Lake and enjoyed a sunset bonfire. Plenty of breeze coming across the lake, so we didn't miss the AC. The welcome cookies were delicious and we enjoyed meeting our host, Marta, who had some great recommendations for dining options. We look forward to another stay.
We have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this one is our favorite. The location, view of Hamlin Lake, coziness and charm of the cottage are second to none.

I love that our cottage is one of your favorites! Thank you for the kind review. It was my pleasure to meet you and your family. I welcome the opportunity to host you again.
I've stayed at this property multiple times with my family. Minutes away from the state park, downtown, ice cream and fishing galore. Marta is the best host!
Could not have asked for a better experience in Ludington staying at Summer Sojourn! Tidy, beautiful water view, central location to lots of activities for our 3 year old to enjoy. Thank you for an amazing family vacation!

Thank you Sarah for the 5* review. It was a pleasure meeting you both and your 2 sweet girls. I welcome you back anytime!!
My sister and her husband have a place on Hamlin Lake and we chose this place because it was close to them. The house was great for our family and was within walking distance to my sisters place. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the house very much. We never had to contact Marta but she did make herself available to us if we needed. The house was great, the only challenge we had was there was no air, but we made it work! Would definitely stay here again!
Nice choice for a relaxing & scenic home away from home!
Our impression was a sweet, cozy cabin near the water. Our stay felt like a step back into a simpler time. No fancy amenities, but a clean cabin, comfortable beds and a nice yard to build a fire or just relax with a good book. Our hostess was quickly responsive to our questions & needs during our stay.

Great location and comfortable stay
Enjoyed our first stay in Ludington. The state park beaches are close by (10 min drive) and were really nice. Downtown was also a short 5-10 min drive with another beach and plenty of activities. Relaxing weekend getaway in a not so crowded lake town. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The host Marta even made sure we had a pack and play and feeding seat for our 1 year old, which was a big deal for us. We would stay here again and look forward to another trip there.

Great cottage for a Summer Family Trip!
The cottage is in a great location for water lovers. We rented a boat on Hamlin Lake and were able to anchor to swim and climb dunes! We also went into Manistee to enjoy the beach on Lake Michigan and watch the boats come in. My husband found a few good fishing spots within minutes! The house had everything we needed and Marta was very welcoming! Only downside was that there was a heat advisory when we were there and the house does not have AC. But we knew that and it did not change our review, just wanted to share.

Thank you to you and your family for being such wonderful house guests. I am glad you were able to enjoy the home and water even though it was extremely hot & humid. We would love to have you again next year if you are in the area.
My husband, 2 year old and I had a great Labor day weekend at this adorable cabin! We were a short drive from town/the city beach or the state park. Well the 2 year old was napping there were plenty of games, etc for us to play at the house. Breakfasts & bonfires staring at the lake were wonderful <3 The front bedroom does get warmer than the back one, but there are fans downstairs to help keep cool! Marta was the greatest, she is quick to respond. She also made us brownies and brought us fresh picked blueberries. Ty!

Great
Cute home decorated like a beach home. Loved the hostess. Easy communication and access upon arrival. Third house is perfect and close to downtown Ludinton and directly across the street from Hamlin Lake. It is not right on Hamlin Lake. One small issue was the toilet kept not flushing. The hostess let us know when we arrived but it still would have been nice to have it fixed since its the only one in the whole house. Overall, great house and rental!

Thank you for the review. We are glad you enjoyed the cottage. I apologize for not servicing the toilet during your stay. I will make sure items are addresses immediately in the future. Thank you for being excellent house guests.
Cute little cottage, at first it seemed a little outdated but everything was in working condition and very clean. The cookies were absolutely delicious, a great extra touch! We stayed here for Gus Macker weekend, it was a great location for us. Not too far but not too close either. It was great being able to see the lake but kinda sucked not being able to get in it. We were told we could swim in the bayou just down the street but there were signs that said no swimming. We did go to the state park on the other side of the lake which was nice. Having lake access would put this property a step up, especially since the owners also own the property across the street. All in all was a nice stay!

I'm glad our cottage worked out for you and your family.
Thank you for being wonderful houseguests.
Just to clarify, I do not own this property, I am only the host, so I am not able to provide lake access with the property across the street.
If you wish to have a lake front property next year during Macker, just let me know and I will be happy to check availability.
I beleive the listing indicates "lake views only" but I will definitely double check. Thank you

Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed, and convenient to surrounding areas!
We stayed here for 4 nights while exploring the surrounding area, and couldn't have been more pleased! This cabin is beautiful inside and the location was perfect for our needs. We visited Ludington State Park, Michigan's Adventure, and Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes while we were there, and it was convenient to everything.
- It's a beautiful home, nicely appointed and decorated. The little decorative touches everywhere definitely made it feel like we were visiting a friend's home instead of a rental property.
- Very nicely stocked kitchen. The appliances worked well and there were plenty of dishes and cookware.
- Plenty of soft seating, with comfortable furniture and side tables, and adequate lighting for reading. There is plenty of dining space as well.
- Very comfortable beds and sufficient bedding for our needs.
- Beautiful view of Hamlin Lake from the front of the cabin. We enjoyed having our breakfast while overlooking the lake.
- Plenty of consumables were provided (paper towels, bath tissue, dish soap, laundry soap, etc.). Knowing this ahead of time via the rental agreement was very helpful, as it meant less for us to pack.
- The small garage was helpful to keep our bikes in on the days that we weren't taking them with us.
- The property is very close to beautiful Ludington State Park and the nice downtown area. In addition, there is a boat rental facility a few doors down for Hamlin Lake.
- Note that there is no A/C, BUT there are a ton of windows and fans, and a nice breeze from the lake. We were completely comfortable even in mid-August.
- Personal welcome and brief tour from the property manager Marta was a nice touch. Plus, she baked cookies for us upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise!
In summary, we really enjoyed this cabin and the only negative is that we would have loved to stay longer! The owner and property manager clearly care about your experience here (which is not always the case). We will definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to the area.

Ahhhh..thank you for a great review. Our goal is to provide a clean, comfortable and welcoming home to all our guests. I look forward to meeting all our guests personally when they arrive. because we always have the BEST guests ever! We would love to host you again in the future. Thank you again !!
The lakehouse was cute and had a lot of space for only 2 people. Even though some of the furnishings were slightly outdated, everything was SUPER clean which I liked. I knew when I booked that there was no a/c in this house which I thought would be fine, but had a hard time the first night; the remainder of the time was great though with all the windows open. Marta was a great host and left cookies for us!
We had an amazing time it just that I we were a little disappointed because no air conditioner and it was a struggle for all of us the house gets really hot , I wish I knew it before hand but other then that if the house has something to make the house cold o could ABSOLUTELY go every year to this house , Marta was phenomenal she cookies for us when we went , absolutely loved everything close by to a lot around.
