About this property

Gorgeous views on large, quiet cove just off Main Lake.

Your days here are made for the water. Bring your boat and tie up to our extra-large dock, which offers plenty of seating in both the sun and shade. Spend your time boating, fishing, or swimming in the calm cove. We provide 2 kayaks, a canoe, a paddle board, and plenty of floats and water toys for your enjoyment.Water depth is 15 ft. at the dock, perfect for fishing, swimming and boating.

Inside, the house features a modern, open-concept design. The fully-equipped kitchen flows into a dining area with a large table, perfect for group meals. Unwind in one of the two separate living areas, curl up by the indoor fireplace in the winter, or grill up a feast on the BBQ. If you need to plug in, a dedicated workspace is also available.

As evening approaches, gather around the fire pit for s'mores. Then, prepare for a spectacular show—what our guests call the very best sunsets on the lake! The community boat launch is just a few houses away and the dock has several cleats for tying up your boat.

The house has an upstairs and downstairs living area, each with their own Smart TV’s. Five minutes from the Food Lion and a quick boat ride to restaurants and marinas. Please be aware that there is an incline between the dock and the house, so may not be suitable for those with heart issues or unable to climb stairs.

Outdoor areas include a deck off the kitchen, patio off the downstairs living area with charcoal grill, a firepit area, and an extra large dock. Don't miss the refrigerator in the boat house to store your drinks and food to enjoy while you are on the dock.

One small, house-trained dog is also welcome with a $100 pet fee. No cats due to allergies, please.

Second time in this home, we had a great time relaxing with family, cooking and playing board games. Home is very cozy even for large families. Great getaway

Our family enjoyed this house for a long weekend getaway. The living space is excellent and comfortable with huge windows for an amazing lake view. We were lucky enough to watch a spectacular sunset. It was quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Great Lake House

Great week at the lake with our kids and grandkids. The house had plenty of space for 10 of us and the dock made it perfect for days by the lake swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, jet skiing and watching beautiful sunsets. Very quiet part of the lake which made it great for the grand kids swimming. We loved this house and plan to return.

Annual family vacation

Wonderful layout for multiple family vacation. The kitchen layout was fantastic and well stocked and the large table accommodated our family game nights. The dock was large and the fridge was a game changer. We were able stock it to make going up and down less of a hassle. The views were incredible and the sunsets unbeatable. VERY comfortable home and amazing view

Stayed here for a weekend with family. We knew nothing about this general area, but we were so happy with everything about the home. The comfort, the layout, the views. I have rarely been at a rental home where everyone was comfortable inside and we all said we can easily do another week here straight through. I would recommend this home for someone wanting a great layout, and a very serene location. If you are unfamiliar with the area, i would also suggest trying to arrive during daylight which we barely made but it was really easy- just unfamiliar. The only time i would not recommend this area is if you want to stay in a bustling location with many food and shopping options. We will likely be have.

We bought Songbird Haven in April 2018 after many years of renting at Lake Gaston in the summers. This is the culmination of a long-standing dream, and we are excited to share this delightful home with others. After a long search for the perfect home on the lake, we fell in love with this house because of the incredible views, fantastic water depth and the cozy charm of the house. We also love North Shore Acres and being surrounded by woods instead of concrete. This is not suburbia, which we appreciate! We live in Norfolk, VA and have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property because of the privacy (the trees provide great shade and privacy), the amazing views of this wide cove and proximity to the Main Lake and all of the Eaton Ferry activities. Also being just off the Main Lake, the boat traffic is less and safer for swimming and/or beginning skiers. The upstair's living area has a wall of windows making the lake visible from every room and angle. We also enjoy just walking around the neighborhood, which is surrounded by woods. It feels like a true get-away from the city.

What makes this property unique

One of the best features is the extra large dock and the great water depth (10-15 ft.) Enjoy a drink while watching the incredible sunsets. There are ample shade areas (for sun-sensitive people like me) and lots of open areas for sun lovers. We also love the multiple outdoor seating options including a deck, patio and firepit area.
