Joe and Sally were exceptional hosts! The A frame is located on the perfect spot for a getaway in nature. I walked down to the crystal clear waters of the Smith river every day for a swim. We enjoyed Jedediah Smith Park close by and their spectacular redwoods. BONUS: Nellie the Golden retriever greeted us every morning on the deck for belly rubs
If you are looking for an off grid get away this is the spot. Don't miss out on the private sandy beach access on the Smith river. This cozy and quiet cabin was the perfect place to recharge after a day of exploring all that the area has to offer.

We enjoyed meeting you and little Alice. Hope you come back again some day!
The property is right along the smith river. The location is beautiful with plenty of outdoor activities nearby. If you are looking for a getaway with yons of natural wonders, then this is the place.
The cabin was great, clean and comfortable and sat right above the river. The sounds of the river and the trees in the wind were stress relieving. The owners were great and very helpful. They provided wonderful insight to the national and state parks, nearby hiking trails, and even a fishing tip or two. We played lots of card games at night and took to the time to piece together a 500-piece puzzle. This is a perfect getaway spot to enjoy nature and just relax.

We are so glad to know your beautiful family had such a nice experience here. Perhaps one day you’ll return and have the opportunity to swim in the clear green waters of the Smith River. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
This was a great place to get truly off-the-grid!
Open floor plan w loft
gorgeous swimming hole w paddle board to use and beautiful madrone trees
I would definitely return!
Absolutely loved the location and quietness of the cabin. Cabin is off grid as described and Wifi is spotty, but you might be glad for it, as staying there will make you want to unwind. Bed was comfortable, bathroom dated but clean.
This was our third time here and it was amazing as always. You can't beat the swimming hole and beauty and tranquility of the property. And, of course, Nelly, the sweetest dog!
Really cute cabin. Definitely a place to go and unplug from the world for a little bit. Owners were very communocative keeping us up to date on what's happening in the area and offered a lot of suggestions for our stay.
A truly magical escape! Thank you for the opportunity to stay on the Smith and explore this incredible area.

REally enjoyed your visit. Wish I had had you adjust my bike, I tried it and messed up my cable, have to order a new one since I frayed it by tightening too hard. Cold here, 34 degrees, ha ha. West Yellowstone must be pretty chill right now. Planning a trip to Patagonia for January/ Feb., super excited! Cheers!
If you are looking for a place to stay as a jumping off point to all the redwood forests, this cabin is what you want. Wonderful hosts that can point you in the right direction for places to go and a friendly dog to greet you when you return from a day of hiking and sightseeing. Get a taste of off grid living without having to fully commit to moving to the mountains.

Enjoyed meeting you Ben, and am glad you enjoyed your stay and visit to our Redwood forests. Nelly was sad to see you leave. I hope your long drive home was enjoyable!
Beautiful cabin, great location for beautiful redwood drives and hikes on the gorgeous Smith River. Very nice hosts who can offer recommendations on things to see. Stairs to the bed are a little funky and no WiFi in cabin.
This spot is the perfect place to unplug and unwind. We spent the whole week enjoying all the South Fork has to offer. Thank you Joe & Sally. We can’t wait for our next visit.
We absolutely loved it, we didn't know it was a off grid place, but it was fun to just unplug no phone no TV no nothing

We are so glad you had a good time here and enjoyed meeting you. It is good to unplug a bit, though WiFi is available. We plan to upgrade the WiFi very soon since so many people seem so reliant on a strong connection, even needing to connect to conduct business while away. We get it.
A new satellite system is on its way.
This trip did not disappoint! The serenity, tranquil nature surrounding this rental was so beautiful. The hikes were majestic and breathtaking. Thank you Sally and Joe for making our stay comfortable and welcoming.
We loved our stay here—the beautiful river, friendly hosts, and the cabin was just perfect! The sleeping bunks are generously sized and there bed in the loft was super comfortable. We really enjoyed all the area has to offer, wish we had stayed longer. It was also such a relief to be out of cell service for a while. Hope we can return again soon.
We experienced a little slice of paradise in this sweet cabin on the Smith River: Awesome swimming hole, cozy comfortable, and peaceful. We will return!
Our stay in the A-frame was fantastic. We loved it all... the atmosphere of the landscaping, a house with great vibes, and a ridiculously beautiful river. It was a truly peaceful (and cozy) getaway, one that left us wanting more. And on top of all that, Joe showed us warmth and kindness from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. This is a seriously special place!
We enjoyed three days at this location while on a western road trip. Joe and Sally were excellent to stay with. They pointed us in the right direction for the best experience. This property is absolutely beautiful. Joe’s stone work is amazing. If we ever make it back to this part of the world, we will stay here again. Thanks for making our stay great!

Hey Pete, hope to hear about your trip home to your Wisconsin farm. I really enjoyed hearing about your farming life. I have always valued the “small” farmer and their struggles in modern times with everything. I loved our conversations. I hope you enjoyed the route home that I initiated for you!
