If you’re looking for that perfect cabin in the mountains type of getaway, this is the place. Host is friendly and hands off. The cabin had everything we needed for our extended weekend. Love how close it is to downtown and hiking as well. We would absolutely come back!

We had a great time! This cabin is really secluded in a beautiful setting, yet it is so close to area attractions. And the hot tub at the end of the day was awesome!

I liked it. The owner's help was excellent and he went above and beyond to help me. The single lane gravel road was OK for me. Bring your own coffee. The bed is a "full-size" bed with access from one side and the foot end but not from the other side up against the wall. The futon is challenging but the owner said he will help you with anything that you need help with. Before you back out of the parking area, make note of the road pipe on the cabin side and drainage ditch on the other side of the road. The easy access to the Mountains-to-the-Sea trail by a 200 foot long narrow connecting trail is amazing but not heavily travelled so watch your step.

Overall a great cabin. Just enough for two people. Furniture was a bit updated from the pictures. Hot tub was a bit smaller then picture and a bit dirty from the inside of the cover falling apart but overall good. Great location felt secluded but still close to everything. Drive up the hill was crazy with the rain. Just go slow and you’re fine. Would stay again. Clean and plenty of space for two. Cozy cabin with all we needed. Thanks

Thanks for the review. New spa cover should be here by the end of the month. Those things take a beating.

The Little Moose cabin was perfect for our family of 4! The futon is a queen mattress so our daughters had plenty of space to sleep. The cabin was equipped with what we needed and the hot tub was a great touch. Thr location was perfect as we were in the mountain, but close enough to the city to be able to get onto the Blue Ridge Parkway for hiking, or into the city for the breweries and shopping. For the price, we highly recommend staying at the Little Moose cabin!

The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and son and I. The inside and outside was clean. The host was very friendly. When I texted him about needing a new propane tank for the grill , i got a quick response and he brought a new tank. I left something important behind , they were understanding and mailed it to me. The MTS trail is a really nice hike and the area was very peaceful. I would definitely stay there again.

The cabin was perfect for a couple’s retreat but I had some qualms about the cleanliness that I think needs to be addressed. There were leftover open bags of chips from previous guests, and while it’s not perishable food, I found it to be unhygienic. Additionally, we could not find any new sponges to wash dishes, they were all old and used. I would recommend for the host to get new pots and pans as they were all scratched which should be replaced, 1 pan did not have scratches but that was it. The WiFi was a bit spotty to stream movies at night. Otherwise, it was beautiful, quiet, and walkable to the trails. The hot tub was clean as well. We also saw a momma bear and cub which was exciting!

Our stay was wonderful and cozy. We had everything we needed and more. Even in the freezing cold weather, we stayed nice and snug. The hikes were great, and right by the cabin. The hot tub was a bonus. Our host was very friendly and kind.
