Everything was as expected. No unhappy surprises. We had a family with one grandma, 5 adult kids & 9 grandchildren. The grands loved being able to walk right out to a sandy beach, as well as the soundproof rec room for (bonus for the peace of adults). Dining room seating accommodated all of us. Wonderful home for a large family.

What a delightful spot!! Family vacation - 7 adults and 4 children. We had PLENTY of room!! The backyard is incredible and we enjoyed the fire pit every night. Leave electronics and worries at home Upper Scott Lake Retreat is perfect for a family get away.

We had a wonderful time at this VRBO property and would happily return—it has some real gems, along with a few areas that could use attention.The sandy beach and shallow lake bottom were perfect for kids—they could walk out 50 feet safely, giving us real peace of mind. We loved using the deck daily, especially for dinners fresh off the grill. The canoe was a highlight too, and we took it out on the lake several times. A local gem across the lake is Rusty Rocket Brewing—the owners made our visit extra special.On the practical side, the window-unit A/C kept rooms cool but darkened them, which some of our party found off-putting. Only standard bath towels were provided, so large beach towels (or a heads-up to bring your own) would help—we ended up doing laundry frequently.A few small maintenance items came up during our stay, including a wobbly dock, a leaking dishwasher, and weak water flow at the kitchen faucet, along with some minor cosmetic touch-ups needed here and there. A little extra attention to these details would go a long way.Despite these small hiccups, the amazing lake access and outdoor amenities made this a memorable stay, and we'd recommend it to other families.

Family vacation

We have a family of 14 - 7 adults & 7 kids ranging in age from 16 down to 8. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The fishing was fantastic & the lake was quiet enough for even the youngest kids to kayak. The kids loved the game room & spent the chillier days playing pool & fusball. We hope to come back next year.

Family Vacation

My large extended family recently stayed at the property and had a great experience. The house was as advertised with plenty of room for everyone. The backyard and lake are great for kids. Proximity to South Haven, Holland and Lake Michigan made beach days east’s. We would definitely stay again.

upper scott retreat

great lakefront setting, and the house had plenty of space so that we never felt crampt. the living/game room is a great asset. kitchen is great with everything we needed. We would definitely go back.

Fall Weekend

Rented the house for a fall weekend in Michigan with family. Had kids ages 4-10 and they loved it. The house was perfect for what we were looking for, clean and the location was close to apple picking and pumpkin farms.

Wonderful Property

This house and property were perfect for our get together. It worked really well for multiple families to share the space. Plenty of options on-site for activities to keep everyone busy. The lake was beautiful and peaceful. There's a great orchard down the road, nice local businesses in Pullman, and close to the attractions in Saugatuck and South Haven! I hope we get to visit again.

Family 4th of July

We had a wonderful time. The house had everything we needed, and more. Excellent communication from owner and property manager. The private beach was great, we just wished the lake was a bit deeper for swimming and lounging.

Great get away for the whole family!

We had a great time, and everyone in our group aged 6-68 said they would go back! The beach front is perfect for kids to play in the water or fish off the dock. There's plenty of room for everyone to eat and play board games, and the game room is situated so that games of pool or movies don't dominate the sounds of the whole house. Check in and out was easy and we didn't encounter any issues that warranted contacting management during our stay.

Nice location, great outdoor space. Plenty of room for large groups. There wasn’t any air conditioning in one main floor bedroom, and it wasn’t working in the pink bunk room. Using the all the bedroom air conditioning units upstairs caused the circuit to trip.
