I had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Paris for 5 days with my family and kids. The apartment was very clean and well maintained, which made our stay comfortable from the moment we arrived. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay, which was especially convenient while traveling with children. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions promptly and even provided great recommendations for nearby grocery stores and patisserie shops, which we really appreciated. The neighborhood felt very safe and pleasant for a family stay, and having a supermarket only a 5-minute walk away was very convenient.Overall, it was a great experience for our family, and I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Paris.
We stayed for ten days in Jean-Paul's apartment. It was perfect for us. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. Bakeries, butcher shops, produce markets, and supermarkets are all within a block of the apartment. We liked it so much, we are returning for another ten days!
Beautiful little neighbourhood in Paris - feels like a village!
Property is very nice, conveniently close to shops and metro. Quiet yet close to nice cafe scene. Plenty of space in this apartment, with two nice beds and well-equipped kitchen.
Well-equipped, impeccable bathroom and kitchen, light and airy. Perfectly placed to enjoy the neighbourhood’s resources. Useful bus and metro lines. Host is friendly and helpful. We loved the area with all its bakeries, cafes, supermarket, bank, post office etc.
This was our 2nd time in Paris, so we decided to stay a little out the city center. The apartments was perfect for our short stay. Adequately stocked kitchen. Very clean. It was about a 10 minute walk to metro station, and about 20min on metro to most attractions in city center. We found a couple very good local restaurants. Had a lovely time
Suprisingly spacious apartment in an adorable neighborhood in Paris. Everything you could possibly need is within walking distance as well as easy access to busses and the metro. The host was lovely and communicative and check in/out was very simple. Highly recommend. :) the

Thank you for your comment. I am very happy that you had a good stay in my apartment. You are wellcome if you want to come back... Jean-Marie
Jean-Marie was a really good host. The apartment is perfectly located (central and still quiet), clean, everything is handy. The arrangement of the apartment is good with a door between the kitchen and the living room, which allows more privacy for every family member. I would go there again without hesitating.
The apartment was great, just as described online. We used the Metro everyday, and it was walking distance from the apartment. The area is very safe and very cute with many restaurants and bars. We had a great time.
This lovely and spacious apartment is a find!! Although it is listed as a one-bedroom, which it is literally, the sleep sofa in the living room is exceedingly comfortable (according to my guests) and there is a door which can be closed making it, in the evening, a separate and private "bedroom." The beautiful bathroom and modern, well-equipped kitchen (with a washing machine!) are off a small hall leading to the actual bedroom, which also has a door. There is a marvelous little balcony where one can enjoy both the sun and the scene below. The apartment was immaculate when we checked in, and the host was extraordinarily gracious and helpful! He met us upon our arrival to make sure we were comfortable. The neighborhood, Butte aux Cailles, is utterly charming! Besides the interesting street art and cobblestone streets, for which it is famous, there are wonderful shops and restaurants. We became a regular at one of the best cheese shops in Paris, just half a block from the apartment. There is a typical outdoor cafe at the corner, and also both a produce market and a small-but-well-stocked supermarket nearby. Walking around the neighborhood was a joy and made us feel very "Parisian"! There are a few hills, but most of them are gentle and I, who walk with a cane, could easily navigate them. I wish I could give ten stars instead of five because both this host and this apartment deserve them!! If you have a chance to stay in this exceptional rental, I suggest you grab it!
We had a wonderful time staying at Butte-aux-Cailles apartment in one of the best neighborhoods in Paris where we got to go to restaurants with locals but were a bike ride, a train or bus ride to Paris's greatest tourist attractions. Jean-Marie was a wonderful host keeping in contact with us all the time (no matter what our need was) and his apartment was filled with wonderful art. Sitting on the small balcony enjoying lunch and seeing the neighborhood was wonderful. We fell in love with Paris thanks to Jean-Marie and his wonderful apartment. We hope to come back again soon!
We had a lovely stay (3 nights) in Jean-Marie’s flat. Very spacious (it was the perfect size for the both of us and our two children) and ideally situated, with a supermarket (3 minutes walk) and the metro station Corvisart (8 minutes walk) really nearby. The neighbourhood was really safe even during the night (we came back several time quite late). Jean-Marie was very well organised (the system to pick up the keys was great) and was reacting fast to our messages. He was also very friendly as well and welcoming. I would recommend this place without any hesitation.
Beautiful Apartment. Gorgeous neighborhood away from the noise and bustle but with fantastic street art, restaurants and parks. Apartment is full of wonderful art with a cheery atmosphere. My host went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating with perfect communication. I also accidentally left the inside apartment door open a crack not carefully securing it and fortunately a neighbor contacted the host. I was mortified with mea culpas. He kindly went to the apartment himself and accepted my apology graciously. This is a reflection of my carelessness and his graciousness. Not a suggestion to be a space cadet as I was leaving the apartment just a lot of gratitude for the graciousness of the host. Anyway, this was the best place I have stayed in Paris. I loved the quieter location. Ten minute walk from Metro. Everything you need and want nearby ( jazz club, violin luthier!, late night carry out and cafés, art, safe streets). Lots of light in apartment. Great bathtub! 10 stars!
At the risk of making Jean-Pierre's apartment even more difficult to book, I am adding to the glowing reviews. We stayed in his place a for two weeks in April and again for two weeks in May 2025. The apartment is spacious for two people--a large living room with small balcony, a well-equipped kitchen (dishwasher! washing machine! microwave! coffeemaker!), an updated bathroom with shower (lots of hot water and good water pressure), and a bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized bed, nightstands and lamps. There are windows in the kitchen and bedroom, so one could open them for breezes on warm days. This is our first time staying in the 13th arrondissement, and it was a welcome change from central Paris. The neighborhood is like a small village--very quiet, with a supermarket and small shops (butcher, bakeries, deli, produce) within a couple of blocks of the apartment. There are many restaurants nearby as well. Because we had to leave the apartment too early to clean (and okay, I don't like to do housecleaning on vacation), we took the option of leaving 50 euros for cleaning. Jean-Pierre is a charming host (communication was easy and fast) and we hope to return to his apartment and this lovely neighborhood in future.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Did not meet expectations
The 60msq area leads one to believe it is a large property. However, the owner's personal items fill almost all the space and what little there was was hard to reach. Most flat surfaces and every nook and cranny were filled with owner bric-a-brac and affairs. Most cupboards and part of freezer had owner items in them.We needed to store clothing on the floor. The level of cleanliness was far below anything we have rented using VRBO. We bought a broom and mop to replace damaged items and cleaned it ourselves before living in it. We hired a cleaner before we left left take back years of grime everywhere. Mattress cover, duvet and pillows were badly soiled. Bed on floor was difficult for people our age and left no space for suitcases under it. One positive was the supply of kitchen equipment though an excess of dishes and glassware jammed in made them difficult to access. Supply of towels was excellent and sofa bed was good for our short term guests.

For more than 10 years that I rent my apartment, I have never had such a return! This couple of septuagenarians stayed a full month in my apartment (the apartment where I live and where I leave storage space available to tenants) and when they left, not a single piece of furniture was in its place, some were crowded into the room. I have a few sculptures on the furniture in the living room, made by me and that I care about and I found them all piled up at the bottom of the laundry basket, some of them badly damaged! I always make it a point of honor to offer a clean apartment, with towels, tea towels, a vacuum cleaner and a complete cleaning kit available to my tenants so that it is not necessary to buy anything else. During their stay they hosted various cousins and friends for over 15 days without informing me and used up my entire supply of bed linen. Concerning the surface, even in Canada, the measurement is the same and it is obvious that a Parisian apartment of 60m2 does not offer the same surface as a villa of 200 m2. They left all the lights on and when checking out. I'm not talking about English books that I found in the library instead of my French books that I leave available to my tenants... An inversion, no doubt? To top it off, they say they have brought in a cleaning lady at the end of their stay but I hope they didn't pay very much for it because the trash was not emptied and the windows of the rooms were covered with adhesive papers which I have had all the trouble in the world to remove. I am of a very zen nature but I do not wish any owner to live such an experience...
Logement tel qu’apparaissent sur les photos, très bien situé dans un quartier sympathique et vivant. Tout est bien organisé. Jean-Marie est aidant et disponible. Je recommande !
Location is great and only minutes from good cafes and restaurants.Apartment spacious and as described. Host very accommodating. He waited late into evening to greet us.Looking forward to stay there in our next visits to Paris.
